Hi

Just a quick question.

Imagine I was playing a 2000 point game, I have 1900 points of models and 100 points of reinforcement points.

How many points do I have to deploy on the board turn 1? 1000? or 950?

Thanks

The total points value of your army is 2000 points (BRB Page 214, Points Limit), thus you must have at least 1000 points deployed on the battlefield (in addition to having at least half your units).

Your points limit is 2000, which shouldn't be confused with your army points value, (which can of course be different, if you are under the limit).

We aren't told explicitly, but as you record reinforcement points on your army roster, I would assume it counts towards your 'army's total points value' as per the tactical reserves rule. So I believe you would have to deploy 1000. (Happy to hear different opinions.. this isn't intuitively what I would have thought)

TACTICAL RESERVES
Instead of being set up on the battlefield during Deployment, many units have the ability to be set up on teleportariums, in high orbit, in ambush,
etc., in order to arrive on the battlefield mid-game as reinforcements. When setting up your army during Deployment for a matched play game, at
least half the total number of units in your army must be set up on the battlefield, and the combined points value of all the units you set up on the
battlefield during Deployment (including those that are embarked within Transports that are set up on the battlefield) must be at least half of your
army’s total points value, even if every unit in your army has an ability that would allow them to be set up elsewhere.

Im not so sure its 1000. If you have 100 points as reinforcement points your armys total points value would be 1900, thus it would be 950. The unit(s) you want to spend the reinforcement points on arent part of your army, yet. You dont know how many, and which units exactly, you will summon.

If he had not included 100 reinforcement points I'd see that being the case, but because he included 100 reinforcement points his army is exactly 2000 points.
