With the spindle drones and iron men from GW coming out, I really want a 1940/50s faction for the game. However, that ain't happening so what other games are out there that give you this feeling? I want tripods, flying saucepans and robot men!

I saw those two in my research but the martian game isn't what I'm looking for and the War of the worlds one isn't possible to get hold of anymore in the uk.

Counterblast
Retro Raygun
Have not played either, so I cannot vouch for them as games. Have considered some figure purchases.

Reaper have a lot of great minis that would fit your request, including a saucer.
These guys have some amazing bikes and jetpack troopers.

And if you're looking for spaceships, there's Raven Star 1 and Pegasus and a few others.

You might want to try https://www.hydraminiatures.com/
They have their own rule sets for what looks like space rocket combat and miniatures combat. I don't know anything in particular about their rule sets. The minis however very much have the 50's sci fi flavor.

"World War Tesla"
"WWT is a 3D printable wargame, written by James M. Ward (TSR, AD&D Deities & Demigods, Metamorphis Alpha, Gamma World). The game is set in an alternate history early 20th century, where Nikola Tesla’s wilder ideas like death rays, force fields, anti-gravity have come to fruition, and changed the course of WWI."

With regards AQotMF, Wayland Games still advertise them and there is a more active ebay seller as well. They are a bit more expensive than they use to be though due to the exchange rate.

"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. " - V

AQotMF is now being produced by the folks at Miniature Market - don't they do overseas shipping?
