Greetings humans and other species,

Using "Authority of the Inquisition", can I take any Imperial vehicle that has a capacity to transport, eg Arvus Lighter or BaneHammer, or only those categorized as Dedicated Transport?

Thanks

The rule specifies Keywords, not Battlefield Role. So anythinv with the IMPERIUM and TRANSPORT Keywords.

When you say "take", you do still need to put it in a valid detachment of course.

So if you want a Razorback you'll need a Space Marine detachment to put it in. And you'll need at least one other unit to unlock the dedicated transport.

In fact, as you can't put two units in an Auxiliary Support detachment, at a minimum you would need two other units: you could take a Patrol detachment with an HQ and a Troop, and then add the Dedicated Transport.

So in the Razorback example that could be a Captain, a Tactical Squad, and then the Razorback.

Its not that simple. INQUISITION TERMINATOR can only enter IMPERIUM TRANSPORT that allow TERMINATOR models to embark.

Ah yes that's true. Because it only ignore Faction Keyword restrictions right?

Correct. TERMINATOR or PRIMARIS for example are not Faction Keywords.

Yep. 'Battle Brothers' rule royally fethed over the Inquisition. In fact, that's pretty much the only thing it did.

Yeah.

You can still take transports that use other battlefield roles, such as Land Raiders, as a one off unit in an Auxiliary Support of course. But you're probably doing the same for the Inquisitor too, so you're rapidly using up CP that way...

You're probably best off bringing the Loyal 32 and then Taurox/Chimera/Valkyrie for your Inquisitor to ride in.

Thanks for the replies.

So I can't just take Land Raiders and other Imperium stuff in an Inquisition detachment as they all have the Imperium faction keyword?

This is due to the 'Battle Brothers' rule found in The Big FAQ 2 (and page 47 of Chapter Approved 2018):

All of the units in each Detachment in your Battle-forged army must have at least one Faction keyword in common. In addition, this keyword cannot be CHAOS, IMPERIUM, AELDARI, YNNARI or TYRANIDS, unless the Detachment in question is a Fortification Network. This has no effect on your Army Faction.

Note that you can take a Dedicated Transport Role unit in an Auxiliary Support Detachment (for -1 CP).

It's such a bad option I'm not surprised you didn't remember. "Let's lose 1 CP to get a Rhino", said no one ever.

Lose 1CP to get a Rhino; that's almost as bad as putting the Inquisitor into a Drop Pod...

Don't forget the Inquisiton has its own Land Raider, complete with the Ordo rule and all, from Forge World (Inquisitorial Land Raider Prometheus) I think.

322 after CA and with some fun abilities. (Quarry plus Ignoring Cover is hilarious against the quarry, and being able to make stratagems 1CP cheaper is also hilarious when you Rotate Ion Shields on your Dominus 3 turns in a row)
