How do?

So it's a shiny New Year, and I hope you all had a good NYE, and suffered somewhat less than I did on New Year's Day.

And being in now fine spirits, I fancy some speculation about what we might see in the coming 12 months for the Specialist Games range. So for now, that's Necromunda, Blood Bowl and Adeptus Titanicus.

Here's my gambles.....

Necromunda.

1. Back filling. Stuff like the AmBot and Henchly Henchmen.
2. At least the start of Outlander style releases. I'm personally hoping for one from the top and one from the bottom, Carol - Brat Gangs and Scavvies to be precise.
3. New 2D board tiles
4. Additional weapons packs for each Gang

Bloodbowl

1. More Star Players (much like back filling for Necromunda)
2. Honestly don't know! Not really my game to be honest. Because I am awful at it. Always have been, always will be!

Adeptus Titanicus

1. Remaining weapons all out by the end of the year. Whether plastic or resin.
2. Nemesis Warbringer Titan
3. Warrior Titan (has been mentioned in both Imperator: Wrath of the Omnissiah and Titandeath so far. Speculating that means there are least concepts/mock ups of it around for those books?)
4. More terrain/boards.
5. Very outside chance that by this time next year, Xenos Titan will have been at least mentioned as on the way.

Right. Off you go!

I expect guild faction miniatures for Necromunda.

Lot of resculpted heroes for ME:SBG and the upcoming Gondor at War supplement.

I don't think we'll see Xenos in a year from AT. What I think we will see is chaos corrupted titans. These might be done in stages.

So the first wave might be something like the core warlord design with warped weapons and armour. Later we might see a 4th sprue added with tentacles and tails and suchilke then we'll likely see totally warped unique titans which don't even use the same core body and are totally unique.

I would expect it to be a very major release since it would be the first "non mirror" appearance and design army for AT and thus a big thing for both balance and the visual appeal of the game and could well spark huge sales since now there's "an enemy" and also a different faction.

I'd wager two years at least until we might see something like Orks or Eldar appear. Three or more for things like Tyranids and perhaps up to 4 for Necrons, Tau and others to make an appearance.

I hope you're wrong Overread! I would love to see four factions for AT (Human, Ork, Eldar, Tyranids) with 1 or 2 units each to form a really streamlined version of the main game.

I hope I'm wrong too, but I figure if I set my expectations on a longer time scale then I can be pleasantly surprised and happy if GW comes out sooner with things.

Big enough AT terrain pieces to block LOS for Warlords would be on my wishlist. Regular WH40k size buildings are OK at a pinch (the Imperium loves its COLLOSSAL cathedral architecture) but something more convincing would be better.

Maybe Spyrers or Adeptus Arbites for Necromunda, or were they too overpowered?

I would be expecting chaos warlords etc be alternative armour plates over standard skeleton. Maybe chaosified weapons though possibly resin rather than plastic

Just predictions mind you...

Definitely more focus on Kill Team as its stealing the lime light of regular 40K. Personally, I hope to see a new companion book that allows for more elite units, such as Scourages and Terminators. Given the Rogue Trader set, I see potential for a Necromunda-Kill Team cross over product...

Necromunda seems to be GW's answer to the crazy-skirmish game market and it might be in their interest to keep a foot in that camp, as Kill Team's military-might background doesn't quite fit. Each gang will see new additions and probably new gangs will be announced.

Adeptus Titanicus will prove to be a success, but will stick to the Horus Heresy era with loyalist and traitor units. Its focus will be on much larger titans, and the Imperator will make its appearance.

A second 8mm game will be announced( or at least be teased ), and will not only introduce xenos races but bring the conflict to the 40K era and also include large vehicles. It will share models from Titanicus but the focus will be on tanks, aircraft and Knights. Titans will be included, but not as common as they are in Titanicus.

To make up for the disappointment that are chaos forces in Black Stone Fortress, an expansion will introduce Necrons - who should have been the baddies in the first place! It will mark the triumphant return of the Slann to 40K - ready to put the Necrons in their place, and save the universe by uniting the Imperium, Tau and Eldar in the process. Together they will stand against the onslaught of the entire Tyranid race and It will be %?!£ing awesome.

The Emperor will finally get a miniature, turning us all into screaming fans at a rock concert.

In my crystal ball I forsee an AOS-era game emerge to break up the many recent 40K releases. Thanks to the success of Kill Team, AOS will get more than just a pamphlet for its skirmish-scale games. Warhammer Quest will make its return to Silver Tower and Shadows over Hammerhal with a small expansion rather than another £100 monstronsity, and will pit the forces of Khorne against the even-greater threat of faries and unicorns, lead by the "miniature of the year" Doctor Lollipop. Seriously, AOS will see some love this year...I just don't what form it will take...

Sigma himself will finally get a miniature, also turning us all into screaming fans at a rock concert.

Finally, GW will merge with Wizards of The Coast and will start the second big bang.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Probably not to be released this year but at least announced, im super excited about Battlefleet Heresy (or whatever itll be called).

Dream scenario: GW and FFG kiss and make up and adapts the SW: Armada ruleset for Battlefleet.
Second best: Andy Chambers adapts his Dropfleet ruleset for Battlefleet.

As for AT, Im beating a dead horse but aside from the obvious (weapon sprues, new titans, new scenarios/assets/accessories) I would like to see ground troops and flyers introduced. Perhaps as stratagem ”assets” and without a super big impact on the field, but just to give that all out war feeling to the game.

You know this made me realise that if Battlefleet returns and is Imperium only at launch I won't be buying into it. AT kind of did ok for me on that, but to have AT and BF both tied to Imperium armies only its just too much Imperial for my taste. I just hope it doesn't spark a wave of no-buys as people wait for Xenos. Even though the original BF was very Imperial VS Chaos heavy with some Ork and Eldar alongside (other races only just got in near the end and some - such as Tyranids - really showed that GW wasn't really putting the same quality into design that the original ships got).

Still if BF gets delayed long enough that AT gets some Xenos that might level out. I guess my fear is that GW ends up chasing the Imperial mix so strongly that it overwhelms their own market. Of course I say that but I also know Imperial stuff sells really well in general anyway so my concerns might be just me and be totally unfounded for the market at large.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Adeptus Titanicus:
More weapons and more chassis.
I think we could get another plastic Reaver, but otherwise new weapons from now on will be resin kits.
More insanely over-priced tiny Knights variants.
More cards and "maniples".
No xenos.
No infantry/tanks.

Blood Bowl:
High Elves and Wood Elves if we're lucky.
Lizardmen I think are 100% guaranteed.
Maybe they'll surprise us with something out of left field like an honest to Hashut Chaos Dwarf team.

Necromunda:
A painfully slow trickle of releases as the Early Access-cum-DLCapalooza that is Newcromunda continues into 2019.
We might get the Guilder units we saw previewed ages ago.
I doubt we'll get the 4 Outlander gangs (and worse, I fear that modern poisonous identity politics will ruin the chance of the Reds or Ratskins ever seen the light of day without a massive re-design).
Delaque weapons and heads will be released at the same time (they weren't previewed with the other mostly fantastic heads, so I'm guessing they'll come with the weapon set).
As others have said, more backfilling on the missing Hired Guns and pets/Big Guys/etc. I think that's good though. Backfilling so the range is complete is a really good idea.
And more Gang War books... which I now dread.

And is KT a specialist game? I thought it was a core studio product? If not that I hope for an Elite/Fast Attack/Light Walker/Medium Creature expansion. I haven't played KT yet, mostly because it's more of that era of auras/mortal wounds bull gak that infests 8th, but like with most GW products I see the (often wasted) potential for greater products in there, including making it a real skirmish game with a few elite units, the odd fast thing, and some of the game's smaller walkers (War Walkers, Sentinels, Kanz, maybe a Crisis Suit, etc.).

Redemptionists and Ratskins will get a redesign, but that's because Necromunda as a whole has been redesigned since 1996.

I expect that we'll see a few new gang types coming - possibly not the ones from Outlanders, as I think they've said they want to look at something new now that the six House gangs are out. Personally I'm with Andy Hoare - I want brat gangs on jetbikes. Although I'd also like to know if that space station is wholly occupied by House Helmawr or if the main Hive City Houses have a presence - I quite fancy converting up some Escher in pressure suits. We might see Enforcers, but I doubt they'll be the Judge Dredd knockoff, "someone sculpted these Arbites minis but they don't want them in 40k and we're desperate for anything we can release" style ones from Fanatic.

IIRC they said the Guilders will be like hangers-on. The idea being that rather than having actual distinct Guilder gangs, the guilds contract the existing Underghive gangs as their muscle, so the Guilders themselves will modify the way a Goliath or Cawdor gang fights.

I also expect that a future supplement will re-introduce the scenarios not included in the new rulebook.

Adeptus Titanicus? New Maniples, new titan classes. I'm not expecting non-human units until 2020 at the earliest. And I don't care, because there's no shortage of things they can do without them.

A new game? Maybe. If they manage to add enough staff to the team. Pretty sure the next one will be Battlefleet (probably Heresy), but I'd quite like a new Aeronautica Imperialis, even if it's just as a supplement for AT.

i doubt xenos will ever come to AT, would be fun to have orks and eldar for shure(but no other races then thouse 2), but its core is 30k afterall and that means imp vs chaos.

so what i am guessing we will get in 2019 for AT is a total of 3 different kits for the warlord and reaver, each with different wep loadouts before the induvidual plastic wep sprues are sold(prolly late in the year for the FW resin upgrades), titandeath, 1 or 2 brand new titans, a few new support units, plastic terrain board tiles, more plastic terrain, more water transfer decals, a FAQ/errata for the rule book.
i am allso supprised if FW only does wep upgrades. alt models is usualy thier thing to do.

allso, im hoping for the dices in different colours. gold and white is not realy to my taste.

Umm period is just bunch of fluff. Rule wise there's nothing that stops adding xenos. Just write "great beast" supplement and voila you have orks.

What is this 'Warrior Titan' that was mentioned in the opening post?

As for this year's stuff: more weapons, heads, and other bits for Necromunda and Titanicus. I would love to see some Spyrers for Necromunda, but I'm not sure that would happen just yet.

As for Titanicus, very maybe we'll get the Nemesis Warbringer?

Oh good. More repeated content. Just what we need to make future Gang War books even less value for money!

could be anything atm as we dont have any details.
the only thing we know will come based on the stream "event" is this:

a Light Scout Titan below the Warhound, a titan between the Warhound and Reaver, and one between the Reaver and Warlord.
a psi titan. (psyker)

as for the nemesis, as per early december the team had not decided if they are going to add it to the game or not.

Nope. AT18 is all about the Horus Heresy. Don't expect to see xenos any time in the next five years. I would expect to see Epic units (tanks and planes and such) incorporated before xenos show up.

iff they do a new BFG after all these years, dont you think they will make sure that they get to sell new models?
Either they will change the scale or require the models mounted on special bases, maybe for use with movement templates or similar.

Im not advocating one thing over the other but I highly doubt they will release a new edition that is compatible with the old line :/

Honestly they don't have to change scales at all. It's not like every time they do a new 40K edition they change scales on everything. You can still use your MK1 Space Marines if you want. The second hand market is good, but at the same time new models fresh in the box will always sell well because gamers like to get their hands on top quality models that don't have to be paint-stripped or fixed from a previous persons botched building etc...

Plus the evolution of designs means that many gamers who are currently active, often buy new models to expand and increase their collection.

There are a few scale changes here and there, but I don't think its part of any grand scheme beyond GW having better materials and methods to make bigger and more detailed models. Increasing the size and detail of the new titans for Adepticus Titanicus makes sense; especially because it lets GW have much more impressive knight and such smaller sized titans on the battlefield, whilst the fewer warlords and the like get a big size increase to show off way more detail. I doubt it was done to thwart the old lead metal and white metal warlords crashing their market.

Scale change was only an example, and it can be worked around pretty easily anyway since whatever scale change happens is likely small enough to not matter.
They could make it so the game relies on components though, similar to FFG or even the new AT where you still need the terminals and cards. Or specialised bases for maneuvering similar to SW:Armada.

Thinking about it however, I dont think GW would lose much by making the game completely compatible with the old line of models. The players who have old BFG collections and would be happy with older models is likely a very small part of the community, most havent played BFG or will want the new stuff anyway!

Whatever the case, ill jump on BFG whenever it arrives! Love space games!
