New list idea. List was massively helped by chapter approved coming in at a whopping 434 points cheaper. I am trying to make a pure codex: Grey Knight list for a tournament that is coming up. And while cheaper wasn’t the goal, but CA made a list like this possible at 2000pts. Going to give this guy a go. If feels balanced and it feels Grey Knighty with only 36 models.

I’ve got good long range shooting, good mortal wound mechanisms, decent durability, and some good bully units in the Paladins, Draigo and the GM Dreadknight.

Plan: Dreadnoughts setup in the back field to hold objectives. If I can have them huddle together the better (should line of sight accommodate) so they can all benefit from wisdom of the ancients. The techmarine and servitors will be a slight melee speed bump defense for them to help defend and repair the dreadnoughts (honestly I had 97 points left over, so I thought this was a good filler). Or the servitors can camp an objective and just do their best to hide.

I can then be flexible with who starts on the board with multiple instances of units knowing GOI.

There is synergy between the banner and brother capt stern. I wanted to make sure all the powers were chosen somewhere so I can maximize mortal wounds. I should put out 10-15 mortals a turn, which if used and aimed correctly, can kill quite a bit of scary stuff.

How to improve this list?

A small elite army, as always.
What's the synergy between banner and Stern?
Stern would be my first drop in this list.

Stern gives +6" range to banner of refining flame, banner gives stern +1 L. Give stern purge soul. They deepstrike together, sterns purge souls and smites, banner smites. Does usually between 4-10 mortals. Had them pull 11 wounds off of an imperial knight crusader yesterday.

Stern is cheaper than a bro capt with the ability to cast an additional power.

Changing it up a little. Draigo wasn't doing much, paladins are good at taking shots to the face but not making it to combat so....added a gmndk, interceptors, and reduced my paladin squad size.

New list.
Gmndk - hammer, flamer, psycannon
Gmndk - sword, psilencer, psycannon, warlord, first to fray
Strikes- psilencer falchions
Strikes- psilencer falchions
Strikes- psilencer falchions
Interceptors-falchions

Vanguard
Techmarine
3x ven dread - twin auto Cannon, twin lascannon
servitors

Vanguard
Stern
Apocathary - hammer
Paladin ancient - banner.of flame
Paladins - hammer, 3 halberds

Yeah, that's sadly my experience with Paladins and Draigo. They look great on paper, but they rarely get into combat before getting shot.

Draigo always does the work for me, either by taking to many shots to face or killing the world. How are those silencers working out for you.
