Can the average Farseer defeat the average Lord of Changes or the Demon Prince of Tzeentch in a mental duel? How large are the combat abilities of Farseers (I know that they mainly specialize in predicting and manipulating fate, for the best battle is one in which the Eldar did not participate)? And how much their power is limited by the runes (as far as I know, the Edar is indeed much more powerful than human psykers, but they cannot use all their strength because Slaanesh will destroy them immediately and they have to act with the runes).

Average Farseer vs average Demon Prince/Lord of Change? (Insomuch as any of these categories have an 'average,' anyway)

I would guess no, but there's definitely some overlap. There's a lot of wiggle room in the lore, too, where things don't fit neatly into one tabletop box or another. There are totally Farseers who could whup up on some daemon princes, though.

Farseers may or may not be skilled at combat. That's up to the individual. One Farseer may have walked practically every Path of Khaine (meaning, being an Aspect Warrior) there is, whereas another may have never walked any.

Some farseers can travel through time like Doctor Who, others can barely predict what they are eating for dinner.

What farseer traveled in time? I also heard that in one book, the Seer Council froze time in the solar system, can anyone tell me more?

The "average" one? In a word, no. Remember that most Farseers were born well after the Fall and that the Eldar race is a shadow of a shadow of its former self.

Farseers are pretty much the most powerful mortal psykers in the existence (not counting some exceptional individuals such as the Emperor or Ahriman,) but daemons, daemons of Tzeentch in particular are no slackers in that field either. A Farseer could probably handle a Daemon Prince, though it would be a pretty hard struggle, against a Greater Daemon they would clearly be the underdog. It would not be impossible for them to win, but I'd bet against it.

As for their combat skills, they used to be utter terrors in close combat in the 2nd edition, but after that their role as warriors has been severely downplayed, and now they're much more like traditional feeble wizards. It has been decades, but I'm actually still a bit bitter about that. Still, fluffwise there is no reason they couldn't be jedi-like warrior-sorcerers, as noted, they could have easily been aspect warriors before.

Also, what kit is available.

The Ghost Helm used to render a Farseer *invisible* to demons - both by fluff and rules (6s to hit on the tabletop).

It'd be hard for the average Demon Prince to face a Farseer in a psykic duel if it couldn't even perceive the Farseer.

In the last hunt.
Spoiler:

A farseer rollsback time and space in the middle of a tyranid hivefleet invasion.

now....

This creates a temporal warp where there are two versions of some characters living in the same universe, the real ones stay around confused what the helk is going on and the others run into the webway to find the Khan/Kagan.

The Ghost Helm makes them invisible to the demons in the warp, not in real space.
