I've played a first game of Vanguard, and loved it. I'm putting together a 200pt Undead list, and would love feedback. In particular, what models are you using for your pack of undead dogs, and swarms of bats? (I've used the undead dogs on the Mantic Undead sprue as markers for my undead KoW units, when they have that special ability that I can't remember now... Anyway, I plop that model down in the tray to remind me to check for regeneration ...)

Zombie x 4
Skeleton archer x 3
Revenant x 2
Werewolf x 1
Wraith x 1
Necromancer x 2 (one of whom has a Lucky Charm)
200pts

My thought is on turn one to have both Necromancers cast raise dead, then to have one Necromancer advance, while the other just casts raise dead. The caster Necromancer would therefore remain the backfield; perhaps serve to hold or claim (himself or with his raised skeletons) objectives. The Undead units are mostly pretty weak, so I'm guessing I'd keep everyone mostly together, unless the opportunity presented itself to spread out without too much risk? I have heaps of figures, except no bat swarms or undead dog packs. Any links/pics/suggestions on models for those would be most welcome.

Thanks!

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

Looks pretty good to me.
Undead are in a really weird position with incredibly survivable grunts, and extra squishy commanders. You definitely want to keep a wall of meat in front of your necromancer.

Reaper does some pretty cheap bat swarms.
