SO I'm trying to drill gene cult shotgun barrels and las guns but I can't find drill bits small enough and even the smallest I have doesn't fit in my Army painter drill it keeps falling out. Can anyone recommend for me a drill and bit that is small enough for that?

I find that 0.8mm works well for small-calibre (e.g. autoguns), 1.2mm for medium calibre (bolters) and 1.5-1.8mm for heavy calibre (ork shootas, heavy bolters, etc.).

I used to use those sizes in a pin vice to drill barrels,
but be sure to get a pin vice with the ball grip, as I tore the palm of my hand up with the straight metal one...

that said, I've gone back to just painting a black spot on the end of the barrel now...
looks just as good to me at table top range
(for modeling competitions I'd still drill)

I used the smaller ones my GW drill came with on my GSC models. I also docked the muzzle brakes of my auto guns to turn them all into shotguns too.

If your bits are falling out, you are using the wrong collet. Unscrew the head and butt cap f your drill and switch the collet out.
