Weird one, asking here to see if anyone else has seen this problem, just had this trying to order some movement trays, however had this on an unrelated site (buying a fridge!)
site wants a phone number, and no matter what I put in the box I get a validation error - have tried number as I dial it, with a space, with the international code, with the international code and spaces etc.
tried my mobile, work mobile, wifes mobile
no luck
anyone else having this issue on websites?
Wondering if there is a validation library somewhere thats got a bug in it (likely an update thats not recognising non-US numbers?)

Have you used the IDD format?
So a mobile would start either +447 or 447 rather than 07.
Edit. So I can't read.
Might be worth trying with/without the + though.

number is (fake number example)
07123 456789
have tried entering:
07123456789
07123 456789
+447123456789
+44 7123 456789
(44) 7123 - 456789
and a few others, google search indicates the issue may be paypal related with them wanting a very specific format, which is undocumented...
have no objection to sites wanting phone numbers, dates, card numbers etc is specific formats, but I do wish they told you what the format is

It might be a specific format, or is it possible you've got a number in record that doesn't match?
Or simply saved as the wrong format. Such as a Mobile number saved as a Home (landline) number?

well they only ask for "phone number", have tried a few numbers that will ring a phone here, entered as I do on the keypad, and the number entered comes up on my phone when I try it there as a number, which it recognises and dials fine.
have emailed the site, who I have bought stuff from before without problems - though they used to send a paypal invoice, I then log into pay pal directly and that works fine - now they have paypal directly on the site and its falling over.
as noted have had this elsewhere, Sage Worldpay on Darksphere works fine so its not the cards, addresses and Wolrdpay accepts the phone number without issue
Automatically Appended Next Post: have had issues where the site limits the number of characters, then when you past from an address book it crops the last character - irritating if you don't notice
but here its not that
wondering if the issue is paypal seeing a number linked to an email they "know" but sees I'm not logging in as an existing user - largely because the website doesn't provide a way to do that

Yeah, that's kind of what I was driving at, that PayPal already has a number for you that it thinks is correct and you're not providing the matching info. Or that paypal doesn't have a number for you at all?

its probably something like this, just need to know what they have mangled my number into within their system.
someone online elsewhere noted they may be trying a phone number look up with the phone providers, and providers who won't give them details when they provide a number fail validation (and any number should fail under GDPR for this).
have dropped pay pal an email and will see what they come back with, also the website concerned to see if they can pick up the order and go via the invoice method
