Saucermen Studios is Brisbane based and have just launched a new series of 6x4 battle mats in Australia. They are all neoprene rubber (mousemat material).

We've had amazing feedback from the community and wanted to share here. The six designs currently available are:

Finally something Australia based! Will definitely check this out.

Are there any plans to go smaller in scale? I'm in the market for a couple 3x3 mats at the moment, and would definitely buy Australian if possible (a 3x3 of your desert one, for example, I would buy very quickly)

Surprised 3x3 isn't an option already as its the standard for x-wing though as you don't ship outside OZ I guess its none of my business.

We do have plans in coming months to release smaller sizes in addition to more designs for existing sizes too.

A plain concrete or asphalt map would be really useful. I know adding roads and other 'terrain features' makes it look fancy but they're actually really annoying when you want to do your own city layouts and just need a good surface to do that on (also it's not very scale friendly if you want to use the same mat for say, Necromunda and Adeptus Titanicus).

If I can make a couple of suggestions....

Offering 3x3, 4x4 and 6x4 of the same designs would be good, even if they need to be POD.

Ballpark shipping quotes in the info section, even just to the capitals (1, 2, 3, 4 mats to Bris, Melb, Syd, Adelaide, Perth, etc) would be useful as I'm not going to go through the shopping cart process and input my details to any store that I may or may not buy from to get a quote when deciding if I'll buy or not. I'm probably not the only person with that attitude.

Totally agree.

Many times I have wondered what the cost of a delivered product would be (from many sellers) and since I cant get a simple answer without going through a full purchase I haven't bothered finding out.

Thanks for the feedback on the shipping. We'll aim to make that more clear. Our approach is to offer both a flat rate of $25 for Australian metro areas but also use a calculator based on the customer's individual location which means most of Australia is around $12-15 shipping for the first mat.
