Finding myself with a chance to actually get games in again, i've found a marked improvement in the speed i'm getting things painted, so i figured i'd have a go at a log
with that said, i present the work of the year so far, in all its i need a lightbox or better photo setup glory

Trolls

Old Mk2 cryx starter i had gathering dust for years finally painted up

bit of unplanned painting downtime, but i'm back at it again

pictures caused me to realize i missed the teeth on Valka, so i corrected that error right after

ok, normal camera is down with dead batteries, so some phone pics of some of the cryx i've finished up (there was some more, but they went off to a friend as part of a trade)


the bits of terrain are from my experiments with that gakky green foam thats used for floral arrangements and whatnot, to see if i can use it for anything
so far, its holding up, after being coated with brush on gesso first

the quest continues to see what i can make out of less then stellar green blocks of floral foam

Loving the foam terrain pieces, never thought of doing that before and it seems like a good way of getting some big chunky landscape pieces done quickly.

it was pure luck i found that the green foam soaks up the acrylic gesso enough to hold paint, and toughen up somewhat
but yea, big chunky pieces are the way to go, and its a quick easy process with an exacto knife, that last one probably only took 15 minutes of actual work, not counting dry time on the gesso, paint, and water effect
i have a block and a half of the foam left, so my next plan is ruined watch tower, if i can pull it off

latest bit of work, learned some things from this project that i think will really help the next one i make turn out a lot better

been a while, but here is another update of work from my paint desk

first up, the cygnar i painted up maybe two weeks ago


and then, from the last few evenings of work, a batch of maelstroms edge stuff i painted up to use for rpgs

work from the last two weeks, mostly from clearing my backlog of stuff for dnd games

imperial castellans


blood angels from the last couple weeks

clearcoat frosted at first, and while i managed to mostly fix it, i'll probably need to work on them again at some point

not happy with the hazard stripes, but he likes them well enough, so i'm moving on to my next project

I think the hazard stripes work fine. Those Blood Angels are rocking a ton of firepower.
