Hi all,
I'm slowly going back on track with painting, so I think it's time to share some WiPs that I'm recently working on. For now it's mostly a "training grounds" to stretch hands. Don't know will it be only one thread to all works, or to separate the projects...will see.
Feel free to comment, I really hope for constructive conversations, it helps a lot (for both sides I think).

Yesterday took out busts from Relic. I'm painting them in free time, started a long time ago, but since I don't have time to play, nothing is hasting me here. Lastly decided to make them in nmm, and here's few try outs.

The second part is my Raven Guard army project. I really love this chapter, such a pity they got nerfed so much in this edition...anyway I'm going to finish them, even to put them on shelves.
The most intriguing model for me is chaplain Cordae - according to fluff, he wears pre heresy armour covered with bones, and have big bird skull on helmet. I made something inspired on mk1 thunder warriors armour (legs are from chaos sm, torso came from mk4 armour), and sculpted a big skull - you can say it's to big, but, according to fluff, it was so big, that it cover the whole helmet. Also made first ribs a d bones...still lot to do...
I'm not sure how to set the hands. I have set the body to look a little heavy, I mean it's old armour, probably partly uncomfortable to wear (not like mk6, favorite of stealthy Raven Guard), but it sucks a little, as now it's hard to find nice hand pose :/ the good thing is that I will have to do some sculpting on them, so I don't have to base on standard hands. Base parts will probably be also csm hands with gloves, they fit to older type of armours.
If you have any suggestions, please share, let's make a brain storm here

Great start to your blog! The busts are all pretty great and I like the hue of blue you've used on the Marine. I also like how you've painted black, it's something I struggle with!

The Raven Guard project is something I'd definitely like to see more of, they're a popular enough chapter but I don't know much about them outside of their love for Mk6 Corvus armour. I like the big beak and the ribs on one side of the body is really neat!

Those Relic busts are great! The battle sister is amazing. I hope to paint them myself one day.

Youwashock, thanks, I hope to finish them at last, it's been a while when I have started, still didn't finish any of these...
Tyranid horde, painting black isn't so hard but need to be practiced, and this is only simple airbrush work for a good start. It's good to observe how black things look in real. After all my fails in painting black I managed to start with rg arm, we will see how it will be going, for now I have to decide to paint them simple or make it more real.

Anyway, I've heard, that some of you find scouts as old and need to be resculped. I think they are really cool, just need some love...and a piece of green stuff
This is few of my scouts boys, got about thirty of them, mostly snipers.

I have a little problem with right hand for spotter (guy on left).

And here's my apothecary, also have an arm problem with him (hate these flat straight hand).

And those guys are chapter/company champions. I was thinking to paint them for this new painting challenge, but don't want to haste with them.

Hi all,
Time for next models for my rg army. I want to point, that I'm not a player, so I'm going a little on blind with the equipment. Mostly based on what I have read here, trying to find compromise between army fluff, look, and playability of units.
So, here's the sternguard and vanguard units.

Not sure about both sergeants equipment, I was thinking about TH/PP or TH/SS for vanguard, but have no idea what with sternguard sgt. Really appreciate if anyone would be so kind and help me with this.
This could be stupid, but I'm not sure about jump packs, should I give them similar ones, or to leave it like it is now (two guys mkIV armour got proper mkIV jp). Well, it's a detail...

I'll show you later something special, my version of every company shadow captains

Looking very good! The ribs are coming along nicely, and I love the skull head.

Thanks @amazingturtles

Well I told I'll show something more, so here are my pack of company's shadow captains. Counting from left to right...

Vykar Kaed, lord of Deliverance
Aajz Solari, master of secrets
Phaeros, master of ambush

Aethon Shawn, master of the fleet
Kyrin Solaq, master of marches
Syras Colfaen, master of rites

Aevar Queld, master of lies
Reszasz Krevaan, lord executioner
Vordin Krayn, master of relics

The last one should be Korvydae, but he have his own model, just need to buy him.
Guys are assembled temporairly, but this is how I see them more or less. I'm trying to keep to what I found about them, still compromising it with original GW masters of the chapters look, by luck trying also to fill gaps in unit versions (e.g. Vykar Kaed can be used as captain in terminator/cataphractii armour).
But, as always I have doubts about equipment...well, nothing is hasting me with it, have a time to decide.

Ah again, forgot to add this

I'm painting it as a gift for my friend, still long way to go, but going in good direction anyways.

Hi all again, found some time to start the pedestal for Mortarion. I'm planning to add some rubble in this cuted corner. Also not sure about the colour of it, for now it's just a trial. I did some few better pictures of Morty.
Anyway, here it is...
