I don't think I'll be going any Battalions, none of them look overly worth it and lots of the same units that don't have enough alternate builds.

I'm definitely going to be using Boingrot Bounderz, they look really fun, and the Mangler Squigs (though not sure if I want to use it as a boss or just a regular Mangler and use the normal Loonboss on foot). And the Troggoths, gunna need to get me some of those, because they're awesome. And a Gobapalooza, and...

I am soooo kinda jealous of the Rockgut Troggs as compared to my recently primed Bullgor Brass Despoilers. They Troggs get the same weapon profiles but I think 3 attacks base plus 3+ to hit. They move 1" slower but also heal and have a 5+ FNP. And wow the models are nice!

So I have to convince myself to either just forgo Beasts to afford the Gitz, or that the Beasts are better and stick with them. The Bullgors do have some mortal wound generation and are a bit faster, and can outflank or get extra attacks, or be in a Khorne army with even more extra attacks and speed.

All that said, those SquigHoppers and the Bounderz are super awesome! Those and the Loonboss buffing little Gobbos, they'll be pumping out mortal wounds all over the place. Really makes me want to jump in.....plus the models are fun!

2 attacks base but 3+ to hit instead of 4+ though bullgors also get the horns and +1 attack on the champion. Rockguts have a bit better healing overall though bullgor could be better if they eat a bunch of small units/heroes. Nifty shooting attack that approximately balances out with bullgor MW generation. Bullgors have 7" move instead of 6" and also +1 to charge rolls.

The big thing I see is that rockguts have a 5+ fnp which is huge but bullgors have bravery 6 base +1 for every enemy unit within 12". So while rockguts are far more durable just one of them dying means a 5 on battleshock will kill another and a 6 will wipe out a 3-man unit. +1 bravery from the trogg boss helps but compared to the bullgors which will be effectively immune thanks to bonuses most of the time its a big factor. I don't think it is quite as good as the 5+ fnp though. However, shadowstalker brayherd lets bullgors outflank which in that specific context makes them significantly better. Especially since an 8+ charge with CP re-roll is very doable (or even 6+ with cogs).

All said an done I would bump the rockguts up to 170-180 but they are on relatively even footing IMO.

I took the plunge and got some Fellwater Troggoths to start, as they puke on everyone! I think for hobby-sake making a cool cavern display for the Troggs is what I really want to do. The Rockguts have crystals, so maybe I could replace those with real crystals for super glitzy gitz

But all excellent arguments for the Bullgors. I will sell some 40k crap...hardly play that anymore anyways.
