If you were a (human) Mercenary in 40K and basically had carte blanche to have whatever weapon loadout you could have, what would yours be? To make this more organized for people to follow, this is what your layout should look like:

One suit of Infantry-Grade Armour: (e.g. aspect warrior armour, carapace, power armour, anything without weapons built in)

One Main Battle Rifle: (boltguns, pulse rifles, gauss flayers)

One Melee Weapon: (power weapons, more exotic stuff like scythian venom talons)

One Sidearm/pistol: (plasma pistols, neuro-disruptors)

One Infantry-Grade Special Issue Weapon: (meltaguns, rail rifles)

Assume you can utilize weapons that would otherwise be either too unwieldy (space marine grade weapons and others will be scaled down to human level), inaccessible to humans (Eldar psi-locked weaponry, Necron tech), or otherwise. Stuff like tyranid weapons/armour, I would think that you're more or less have them biologically integrated into your body with talons/devourers, please explain if its just a suit or otherwise, it'd be cool to see how you'd pass it off as a merc! You can mix and match, no need to feel like you have to stick with one faction!

My personal list:

I.G.A.: Striking Scorpion aspect armour, close to power armour level protection without the cumbersome and power-intensive/training requirements, while also being more light and reactive than carapace.

M.B.R.: Pulse rifle, basically one of the best infantry weapons you'll get outside of Necron Immortal stuff, I figure its less cumbersome in comparison since its made for more normal infantry.

Melee Weapon: C'Tan phase blade, if I'm going to be in melee, may as well have something that sticks when it hits

Sidearm/pistol: Kustom-Mega Slugga, when in doubt, melt their face!

Special Issue Weapon: Hotshot Volley Gun

Also, what one weapon would you want to bring over to our world IRL? Personally, I'd probably have a lasgun, you can recharge its ammo with the sun and its super robust so I don't have to worry about running out of ammo and dealing with maintenance, while its still sci-fi enough to show around to company.

Krieg! What a hole...

Armor: The sort of power armor Amberly Vail wears, seems a lot less cumbersome than regular PA.

Man gun: Pulse rifle

Melee: Storm knife, basically a power knife, can be turned into a sort of power spear by fixing it on the pulse rifle

Sidearm: Inferno pistol

Special: Hotshot volley gun

Bring IRL: lasgun

Huh, I didn't know this even existed until I looked it up. Well played, my good man, that's some crazy stuff, especially for Imperials. Would be cool to what it actually looks like on the tabletop, or if Inquisitors had access to them whenever they get redone, it'd be cooler than just having power/carapace armour.

Spyre Hunting Rigs are *the* awesome sauce. Of the various types, Malcadons are my favorite design (I own 6).

Inquisitors in 40k won't have access to them, as they're for Necromunda games.

I'd pass up all the fancy guns, and take a basic lasgun.

I suspect anyone who's had to sync the logistics of supplying six different calibers to units in the field, or had to hump a few hundred rounds of belted 7.62 a few dozen miles for themselves, will understand- let alone anyone who's had the fun of trying to manage in-situ procurement. Infinitely rechargeable magazines are basically magic.

Armour artificer armour much quicker and responsive than normal power armour but the same and sometimes better levels of power

main gun pulse carbine very powerful shortish range but assuming I'll be a mercenary I won't be fighting at ranges of 5 miles and small and easy to wield. If I will then pulse rifle

melee c'tan phase blade armour doesn't work against it as it only actually touches organisms.

side arm emperors benediction quick firing and meh armour peircing, better than a bolt gun

special rail rifle great range good damage and very good against tanks and other heavy armour.

I'm dyslexic and thus am bad at spelling and grammar please don't remind me in comments to my posts.

Inf grade armor: Carapace armor with camo netting cause why not.

Rifle: high velocitiy autogun, because sturdy, trusty and I in essence allready can and could use one. Not to mention adaptable and different ammo.

Pistol: boltpistol with incindiary shells. I mean a poket nade launcher that sprays stuff also in fire is great.

Special: heavy stubber with various ammo types bipod and modifyable.

Armour: The Autarch version of the Swooping Hawk armour. I'm not sure the wings would do me any good in a band of mercenaries, except making me a bigger target, but form over function, always.
Rifle: Avenger Shuriken Catapult
Melee Weapon: Husk Blade
Pistol: Fusion Pistol
Special Weapon: Should probably be a Blaster but the Dark Lance is way too good looking to pass up on.

Dire avenger armour, seems light enough to be wearable most of the time, may require a bit of letting out for porky humans.
Swooping hawks las rifle, long range high rate of fire.
Fusion pistol for when you really need something getting too close very dead.
Power glaive because spears beat swords.
Special weapon would be a remote bomb, not sure who carries one but I'd make sure to get some.

Armour: artificer armour- supremely tough, yet mobile. Known to be available for standard humans.

Longarm: Kalibrax V-I pattern lasrifle with an upgraded bolt-collimator array and induction blast-chargers. All the reliability and versatility of a lasgun in a package with the range of a long-las, and the ability to overcharge for big stuff. The most finely crafted form of lasgun, this is my reliable back-up.

Pistol: disintegrator pistol. If I need this, gak has hit the fan. Therefore, may as well choose the most nasty option I can!

Melee: neuro gauntlet. I'm going to be rubbish in melee, so may as well choose something that can kill with the barest scratch. EDIT: as pointed out below, a null rod would be better for the psyker protection!

Special: arc rifle. This was a tricky one. I decided I needed something that could take down vehicles if necessary, to fill the remaining gap in capabilities.

I have stuck with human tech to avoid being declared a heretic by the Imperium, as I am most likely to be forced to deal with them. Of course, they may still raise an eyebrow at the appearence of a random person with a collection of exquisitely rare and powerful artefacts...
