Are there still Deadzone players around here?
What are your favourite lists, and what is your experience with the new ones (Mazon Labs and Nameless)

And for something completely different:

Now that Mantic has turned the Nameless Goliath into a Nightstalker monster:
https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/7380/445605.page#10285120

The question is, would it be possible to turn other Nightstalkers into Nameless?

While I like the concept of the Nameless and most of their models, some are from the old days of Mantics design low (I guess because they are made for a boardgame).
I first thought about purchasing some Tyranids to use the bits to boost the faction starter (mainly claws and heads and the Carnifex looks perfect as Ogre or Terror) but was not really happy with that idea

Now the obvious solution is the use the much better looking KoW models to upgrade the Nameless
I mean replacing the Caratid with those is easy
Using the Reaper as Assassine too

But Gunslinger or Rifleman are more difficult (what weapons to use and better using the plastic Scarecrows as base or the Reapers?) especially as I like the Gunslinger model but not as duplicates therefore using the Scarecrows would be the better solution

I just bought into Deadzone with the Marauders. I don't know much about the game so I'm reading up on the rules.

I find it interesting that the game is based on a grid system. My question about this game is.. Can you play it without tokens? I watched a YouTube video from DeadPathZone and one of the guys didn't use any tokens to indicate that his models were activated, burning, or took damage.

I don't have the tokens so that's why I'm asking..

I suppose you could play it without various tokens but unless both you and your opponent have great memories and really trust each other I think there's a little too much to track without 'em.

Maybe you could use unit cards with card sleeves and dry erase markers to track stuff?

It possible to play without tokens but I would recommend at least to use some kind of coloured dice to mark the not obvious/easy remember stuff

Even if you don't have the official tokens, you can use anything that you want as long as you can make sure that you don't activate the same model twice (and that you don't forget to activate some models)

Still playing?! It's the game I play the most. I haven't played Vanguard yet, but Deadzone is by far my favourite tabletop. Slick rules, cineastic situations, nice models and a good, quite intelligent fluff (looking at you, grim, dark future where there is only war). Like it, thank you mantic. And yes, always excited about new Deadzone stuff.

Deadzone v1 didn't do much for me, but I really liked the second edition. After I have gotten Vanguard out of my system I will probably return to Deadzone.

Also, are there rules for large games in 2nd edition? I remember there was rules for playing with two mats in 1st edition, but I cant remember I having seen any rules for it in the 2nd edition.

I think you go to Firefight for that. You can get the free rules on Mantic's webpage.

There are rules for larger games eg playing with 2/3/4 maps as large Deadzone und small Firefight games kind of overlap

and you lose some advantages of Deadzone in larger games

But there is no problem to play something like 2 teams per side on 4 maps if you want to get larger (instead of just increasing the points per team)

but as soon as you are going into the range of 750-1000 points or want to take more vehicles FireFight is the better option

Cool, looking forward to more Deadzone stuff.

I know it's not gonna happen, but an uncharted empires for Deadzone would be awesome, or just more factions for that matter.

That would be cool

But not like the KoW stuff with Not-GW armies, but to have at least lists for some of the Dreadball factions
