Hey dakka!
So my chosen faction for SMs is deathwatch however the dark imperium easy to assemble kits forced my hand and I decided to create a custom chapter based on Scooby Doo. (Yes the HQ will be fred, velma, daphne, shaggy n scooby). For now I just wanted to begin this blog by posting a couple pictures of my progress thus far. Backstory, rank symbols etc will be generated in time as well.
For now I figured a rank and file marine is denoted by a green stripe on their helmet while a sergeant is denoted by an orange stripe

4/16/2019 Update
Hey dakka!
It's been a while since my last update on the Scooby Doom chapter. I've been focused on completing my deathwatch squad. (Really improved my painting game working on different blends for each chapter and the various armaments).
Kinda getting nervous about painting the banner and HQ but it's coming up

Is it safe to assume there will be a Repulsor/Mystery Machine? Because I really hope it is.

Oh, there had better be a Mystery Machine in here at some point!

I look forward to seeing how this develops. A very fun concept for an army!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Yes! As a matter of fact it's already assembled. However that's about a month out from hitting my paint desk. I want to find a decent mystery machine decal or im going to create a stencil (machinist by trade) so it scales well and comes out neat.

Weapons:
My current challenge is deciding on what colors to make the weapons. I want to go with the trollslayer orange for the frames then ledbelcher/ runelord brass for the decals.
However, the trollslayer orange is not layering well over the dark blueish Stegadon Scale Green and i'm concerned it will look like a disaster.

Cool project, I enjoy seeing some pop culture references / armies with a fun theme.

Paint on a solid coat of Jokaero Orange first, then layer with Trollslayer. Thin coats! Orange is one of those tougher colors...
