I'm going to be going on an extended business trip to Tokyo, and I was wondering if there is enough of an English-speaking scene in the area to justify bringing an army along for the weekends.

Why not just learn Japanese? It's a long flight

In all seriousness it depends how much time you have.

Tokyo is one of the great cities on Earth and well worth exploring, and even if you have weeks, Kyoto is just 3 or 4 hours by bullet train.

I frankly would not use precious luggage space and weight for an army. Maybe a small Kill Team.

It could be worth googling Warhammer Tokyo just to see what's out there. There was a GW store in this massive anime/manga mall in Nagano that was fun.

There is a very active English group in and around the Yokohama GW store. You might want to check out the Wargamers in Japan Facebook group or Tokyo Tactical (a tournament group).

@Kid_Kyoto
I have spent roughly a third of my year in Tokyo for the past two years. I have seen quite enough of the country. Bringing my hobby with me is a relief because otherwise, I just become a raging workaholic.

@Chrysis
Ah. That's about an hour trip from where I am at in the Shibuya area. Thanks for the leads though.

I went to the GW in Harajuku last September, and the vendor spoke very good english. I can't remember where he was from, maybe Germany?
In any case, it might be worth asking the store about the local scene, especially since it's pretty close to Shibuya. For some reason their facebook page is blocked for me (apparently a country restriction), but the phone number is listed on GW's website.

Yeah. I've been there. Cool guy. Not much playing space though.

The Ikebukuro store is another option, although there haven't been many people playing that I didn't already arrange to meet.
