My gaming group usually plays 1,500 points. This has two main reasons:

a) we can play 1,500 points in slightly over an hour
b) we have several newer players who don't have a large collection yet. 1,500 is better manageable than 2,000 or 2,500.
c) If need be, we can play 2 games at a time on my table + one 2x4' board which I have bought some time ago. This makes for two 4x4 boards.

We originally started out with 1,200 and increased to 1,500. Now we've sorta grown into there and it's working perfectly fine.

For my next battle, I'm rebuilding my Brotherhood army. (it features a lot of models that need updating; see for more info my blog ->kingsofwarvince.business.blog/2019/01/25/a-new-project-brotherhood/)

The army list being:

-Regiment of Abyssal Hunt / mace of crushing
-Regiment of Redemption
-3 regiments of vilein initiates
-2 troops of reconnoiterers
-Forsaken Beast
-Mounted Exemplar / sword of Slashing
-mounted adjudant / flute of bane chant

Total 1,500 points exactly.

Though I fear fliers (having no flier counters at all) I hope to be able to apply enough force on one part of the battlefield not to be thwarted too much by fliers. Else, the mounted exemplar will need to sacrifice himself in order to keep the dragon grounded for a turn or two....
Against gunlines or infantry lists, it'll work nice. I really hope to face that all-shooter goblin list which has been bugging the gamer group, since I'll be in his face turn 2.

Any ideas? Better use of points?

It seems decent. The reconnoiterers can delay Fliers if need be. Nimble cavalry is useful.

Do you have CoK 2019? If so, have you considered the Undaunted Crusaders formation? It's two Brotherhood regiments and a mounted Exemplar, and all units are +1 Spd.

Eventually you may want some Order of the Forsaken. Fireforge makes pegasus knights, though their webstore currently says "Out of Stock". https://fireforge-games.com/albion/267-albion-s-knights-on-pegasus.html

I haven't been able to use my Brotherhood yet but my main army, TR, is also deficient in the Flyer department. I try to mitigate this by always taking Wings of Honeymaze (40 pts.) for a Hero who can get behind bad guy lines to tie up shooters or flyers.
Maybe if the 20 pt. mounts for your Examplar and Adjutant were swapped for the Wings this would fit?The Adjutant would have to walk (I realize that doesn't fit the theme of your mounted army), but he might be able to stay within bane chant casting range of several units.

May the dice be with you!

I do own some order of the forsaken (these guys https://ibb.co/4dVZbSZ who can double as elven drakon lords or order of the forsaken) but I find them not that useful as regiments. Their 150mm frontage is effective on a horde level unit, but a 9attack regiment with no CS is a bit... meh.

That said, I have considered the undaunted crusaders option. In Clash18, it was an auto include, but in Clash19 not so much. The cost is a bit steeper and though I see the value of melee 3+, I find the difference in cost between order of the brotherhood and vilein initates a lot.
2x order of the brotherhood + formation = 3 units of villein initiates. Though vileins have their challenges of their own (melee 4+; but also reduced nerve) , most of this can be solved by keeping 'real' knights close by. Initiates work best when mixed with valiant knights, and thanks to Clash 18 (continued in '19) all inspiring units also have valiant.

@ Artic Dragon, would love to have the wings, but losing the steed on the army standard would keep my inpiration out of range too long. Pity I can't mount an exemplar on a pegasus like KoM captains.

The army is progessing slowly:

Current progress:

Regiment of Abyssal hunt (done)
Regiment of Redeption. (Temporary models; reiksguard)
2 troops of recoinnoiterers (one finished. Other proxied by pistoliers)
3 regiments of vilein initiates. (19 out 21 painted. Still need to be multibased)
Forsaken Beast (Needs rebasing)
Mounted exemplar / sword of slashing (done)
Mounted adjudant / flute of bane chant (done)

Almost playable. Does need some additional models to be fully complete.

It's very gratifying to bring old models back to life. Look like you have a good restoration process going.

That's indeed true! I love this project, if only for the sake of re-using my old models!

There's some progress after the monstermarch dragon (see more here http://kingsofwarvince.business.blog/2019/04/01/monster-march-5-finished/) has been completed.

Glad this project is finished, for now I am going to use these for a bit on the battlefield.

Congrats! The army looks great, proper mounted force. I would recommend rebasing the Varghulf tho, pretty jarring with his old brown base - although I do like the use of a big bat monster to rep him. Really wish you could give him any of his upgrades but 5 points short

Speaking of points, I might recommend Whip of Celerity on the Order of the Redemption, 17" charge vs Sp8 enemies is a thing when you need to keep that TC2 on. Otherwise maybe Staying Stone on the Abyssal Hunt and Skullpole on the Exemplar.

Thanks!

and yes, while I repainted the base to dark brown, the forsaken beast still stands out too much. Either I'm rebasing him, or painting up a pair of reaper giant scorpions as forsaken beasts.
