It is here, the great repointing;

Still working my way through things but generally it seems pretty good, large bases are mostly cheaper and some upgrades (Han Gunner/Marauder etc.) have gone up.

I only see positive changes, honestly.

May the Redline/Whisper/Soontir rest in peace.

Redline went up by 8 points! Wow! A good nerf to a powerful ship.

I am liking just about everything I am seeing here. This is a quality update.

With the focus on Hyperspace at the moment with the Trials coming up... is anyone seeing Extended lists that are surging to the top?

With Toronto system open over FFG have decided to do even more points adjustments.

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2019/2/28/the-battle-of-toronto/?fbclid=IwAR1Iu3-3Q3AVGrGkek0Y2gNgLc1h4ymC4s_rn8U2WlBXL6Zb3Zj-mS9Tg5M

Despite having a mediocre showing the following is repointed effective immediately;
Lieutenant Dormitz has had his squad point value increased to 70 points, and the Hyperspace Tracking Data upgrade has been increased from two points to ten.

I am quite frankly stunned at this change, the lists they are pricing out was okay but it was very much a gatekeeper and not anything too terrifying.

But the problem with the list was that it broke a key rule of 2.0: no token stacking allowed. You have to roll dice and let RNG decide who wins, you aren't allowed to just line up fully modified 4-dice shots and be confident that you're going to kill something. And it was a NPE for clueless newbies because they had to learn strategies for beating the list instead of just jousting at it and letting RNG decide.

Yeah, I don't get it at all. I also don't get why they done this two days out from the next system open. I am quite stunned that they should have knee jerked like this against something that wasn't even that good. Whats going to be next?

Fortunately Krayt Cup isn't doing the points change this Saturday since so many people are in transit to the tourney already.

Also HTA going from 2 to 10 is freaking stupid. It's good for ONE ship and that's Doormouse.

I suspect they probably didn't like the general mindlessness of it, and are possibly worried about future releases interacting with Dormitz or HTD. The sarcasm aside, Peregrine's hit the nail on the head, the token stack was too easy to achieve and that's not how FFG want 2nd edition to be played. It does set a worrying precedent though. The recent System Open in Toronto probably showed that Leia and Heroic are too currently cheap but they've chosen to nerf the Triple Upsilons immediately instead, which seems odd. To be clear, I'd rather they didn't nerf anything between the points updates unless something is truly abusive but I don't think the Upsilons were at that level.

Nah tripleU was nothing like abusive, good for stomping new players but nothing else and once you get around and behind it died as easily as Upsilons always do. It makes me worry for the future I have to say, Hyperspace outright banning cards is one thing but nerfing stuff into the ground after such a short release window and when its not even that good is another. I just wish that they had said why they chose to do this not as justification but so I could try and understand their reasoning. As Slipspace said Leia and Heroic were shown to be good, as where rebel generics and turret/vet/Ywings so are they going to nuke them also?

IMO heroic is only good if you're bad at math. Nerfing it would be a huge overreaction.

Nerfing it would be a huge overreaction (like nerfing HTD so badly) but 1pt to reroll all dice if you blank out (and have rolled more than 2 dice) is hardly only good if you are bad at maths. Its not great on X-Wings (though for a point, why not?) but as the second slot on A-Wings its a great little insurance.

Cant say as I actually like any of the faction only talents though, Selfless aint that great, Ruthlesness is horrible, Feraless is okay on Fenn but not all that elsewise, Fanatical is meh, dedicated may have a place (but I doubt it) and if CIS have one I have forgoten what it is!

The problem is that the chances of actually doing anything are low. With red dice even a 2-dice gun has only a 1/16 chance of triggering, and then you have to roll something worthwhile on the re-roll. For green dice on an a-wing it's down to a ~1/19 chance of triggering. So yeah, it's one point, but it's effectively a once-per-game re-roll where you don't even get to choose the timing. The only reason it's seeing any use on a-wings is that it's cheap and you have a slot free.

IMO fanatical and ruthless are probably the best of them. Fanatical is extra damage and likely to trigger, and ruthlessness is easy extra damage if you have a list built for it. Selfless is too restrictive, fearless rewards you for bad flying, and prequel trash is prequel trash.

This bit;
"The only reason it's seeing any use on a-wings is that it's cheap and you have a slot free. "
Sums it up perfectly. Alot of people were using trickshot for the same reason before its points went up.

I havent seen anyone try building a list around Ruthlessness as I would guess that would be Decimators? which are woeful. Fanatical, I guess its insurance as well but I cant imagine what you would put it on that those 2pts couldnt be better spent elsewhere!

Since the release of v2 I havent really been thrilled with any of the Talents to be frank, some can have a use but too many are either just bad or filler.

I'd rather say I'm happy no EPT are auto-include in any list. If it frees up points for other styles of play, other upgrades to shine, then great.

I personally get Heroic to trigger at least three or four times per game. T-70s will gladly get that defensive re-roll. And the only A-Wing I fly is Lulo, who frequently only throws 2 green dice. I've been consciously saving my tokens for my defense and it just helps not to stare at two blank dice in disgust.

One of the list that was bothersome for one of my friends who attended the Toronto System Open was... 4 K-Wings. How weird is that, eh? (It doesn't help that we were all flying Hyperspace lists while he was practicing Extended, but Jean Coallier's list was a tough nut to bust.)

Aye, the lack of auto include cards is one of my favourite things about v2 (now trick shot has gone up a point!). It was interesting to hear about the Resistance A-Wing swarm doing so well, I had seen a similar thing where some was trying to leverage swarm tactics but it wasnt overly great (for some reason A-Wings hate tugboats...).
A 4-K swarm is different! I dont suppose you know the load outs? I havent seen any Ks bar Miranda in v2 and just had a look in the squadron builder and was stunned to see they are 37pts! They have a really nice spread of options too so I am surprised they are not seeing more play.

Well that's one reason I like extended. There's always surprising lists, and I think winning lists generally come out of left field.

It was a very straightforward list, with 270 degrees firing arcs and bombs out the back. Sure, the sides are just 2 dice-attacks, but that means you're about to be boxed in with bombs or swerve so much you won't have a shot.
