Not sure this is the right place to mention it, but the final episode of Helsreach is out:

Coffee, eggs & 30+ mins of new Helsreach? That's a breakfast

Post-breakfast edit: It's wonderful! It's got it all. And AT fans are in for a treat (hint: cuteness)

Thanks for the link. Richard Boylan put GW to shame with his animated movie.

Awesome - thanks for this!

Nice! Watched it last night. It's truly a massive undertaking for one fan to do and I appreciate the effort put into it. About the only possible suggestion I'd make for the creator is to maybe consider doing a single "movie" upload of the whole thing converted all to the same style as the first two thirds so it's in the same cohesive visual art style. I know that last part is quite unlikely and probably a lot of work but figured I'd put it out there.

Man oh man! At the risk of upsetting the mods by bumping this thread, I just found out about this movie through a recent BOLS article and just had to drop my two cents on it.

Maybe it's my age, but most of the 40K fiction videos I've ever seen have been pure garbage.. up until this point. Helsreach is the first real attempt at a proper 40K fictional video that I have seen, and I am very psyched to hear that it's author has been hired by GW to do more stuff.

Forget about nonexistent storylines, pisspoor morning cartoon CGI, and redundant bolter pr0n. Here is a real story, with fluffy portrayal of Black Templars and the rest of the imperials, and the illustration style of the first half of the movie is to die for.

My only points of critique are the somewhat bland audio production (besides voice acting itself, which is decent) and the change of illustration style to cartoonish looking CGI towards the end of the film. I feel like a weirdo when I read the hundreds of praising comments on youtube how "the film looks much more cinematic and professional" towards the end - I myself felt totally the opposite! I've seen pisspoor CGI throughout my entire life, surely we've all had enough of it by now, you can't possibly be serious when you say that stuff looks any good visually. Its all plasticy, the way light looks like isnt realistic, and everything supposedly organic just moves in a very awkward and stiff way. Comparing that tired ish to the "Waking Life" style blurred illustration style of the beginning of the film is like comparing "Toy Story" with the works of Picasso.

If this movie was remade with top notch audio production and with the visual style of the beginning of the film from start to finish, I'd rate it among the finest animated feature films ever.

For anyone who hasn't yet seen this film, you need to GO AND WATCH IT NOW. Forget all the rest. This one's the real deal.

Massive respect to the author!
