Hello All,

Well, the 10th anniversary is upon us, and we're excited to bring another amazing year of one of the biggest and brightest tabletop gaming cons to Washingon, DC over Labor Day from August 28-September 1 this year.

http://novaopen.com and http://novaopenstore.com for information

General Event Registration opens @ 8:00PM US EST on March 1 this year, and please be prepared to register ahead of time - most of our marquee events sold out in a few hours at most last year, and this year promises to be even faster.

More info to come, and e-mail customerservice@novaopen.com to sign up for our e-mail newsletter (which never misses a 1st or 15th of the month) to always be as up to speed as possible with NOVA Open information, FFG & GW event and sneak peak info, and a whole lot more!

I loved Nova's time policy last year, but are we ok to Bring Chess Clocks and play with them? I did every game with LVO with them and it was amazing, no stress and finished each game to turn 6. Last year at Nova I definitely had a lot more anxiety when we fell behind usually due to the opponent and splitting the time after say turn 3, when the opponent had already used most of it didn't feel fair.

Something like that will likely be quite workable. We'll keep the time policy given I think all but less than 10 fingers of games finished on time / naturally, but probably make it easier for players to start with a clock if and when concerned.

It's cool how MVB made sure to make sure Dakka had a chance to get in and didn't just rely on social media. Even came in with reminders.

Thats actually pretty classy IMO.

Congrats on the epic sell out on about everything GW on the first night!

We're doing our homework; the challenge is where to make room; we could expand to some event space at the next door hotel, but have to assess the willingness of those events that would shift over to do so. The con is basically sold out. Quite a few on the wait list will push through, however, by the time we get to go time ... but yes we're now at 140 on wait list and that's a lot of people we'd like to be able to make room for if at all possible, and that's JUST the 40K GT.

There are nearly 100 on wait list for Sigmar events, Kill Team events, 30K, etc. each respectively.

Or the Hyatt Regency isn't big enough I'm #133 on the wait list - got my SuperNova and then promptly forgot to get my GT :(

I wouldn't give up hope yet.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
But I *would* sign up for shorter wait lists and actual paid sign-ups for other activities that you would enjoy doing other than the GT in the same time ranges; you can always drop them (for auto-credit in the store app) and use that cred to purchase the GT ticket if and when it becomes available. That way if it doesn't, you don't miss out on *Everything*.

Yeah that's what I'm doing right now...I got on the kill team GT wait list (only #4 there) and am considering some other stuff but it's tough - I'd have to learn a new game in most of the remaining available options I see. Not that that is bad I just don't know a lot of active groups for the other game systems. But we'll see. I only live down 95 a bit so I'm going no matter what.

I don't suppose there's been any movement towards expanding the 40k GT by a couple dozen tables

Still looking at it, just may be a month or two.

Update - looks like we should be able to add around 70+ seats to the GT. Wait listers will be notified as appropriate.

So there's no "contact" option anywhere in the novastore that I could find. So I come here.

Im trying to transfer some tickets to a mate. I hit the initiate transfer button and nothing happens. Nothing. He has a member number and all that.

Help?

Which days are you looking for events for // which game systems? We have a large variety of gaming and hobby / seminar events happening from the beginning of the con on Wednesday through the end on Sunday. We also have some "pre-con" seminars taught by the likes of Roman Lappat starting on Sunday.

i think this is an accidental thread necro from an event last year, so we're gonna lock this.

If this is not the case hit the alert and we'll reopen it.
