Greeting noble scions, faithful servants of His most Holy Imperium, and the rest /s

Been coming to the site more and more for information so made the plunge and am now a glorified member, and stuff.

Got back into 40K with IK after an hiatus of over a decade, 8th ed is certainly interesting considering last time I played there was no 'Nid codex, so I had to use the rules filling out the rulebook instead. (3rd/4th ed maybe? late 90's).

looking forward to learning and contributing, as well as some spirited debates and discussions! en-garde!

WELL MET

You probably played before the launch of 3rd edition / where you can make custom units/add wonky upgrades to bugs and so on. Welcome back!

Sounds like you hail from the golden era of Codex Imperialis. Still as fine a publication today as any codex that came after. Welcome back, some two decades later by the sound of it. Resurrected like a primarch!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

It was a nice, hefty, paper-back tome which took up many hours of my life with fluff (I love the fluff still), and list-writing.

More like a rediscovered Knight world, working on a pair of Valiants at the moment, can't wait to try out some of the tactics I have in mind on them!

that sounds familiar, I vaguely remember Old One Eye being the only critter the 'nids could field at the time with regeneration. And you could make everything different with biomorphs(?) It was the transition point I had an old (metal!) Tyrant and some GS and 'gaunts, and then the new codex came out with new models where the weapons were grafted onto their physiology rather than being wielded.
