Alright, GW is hosting a narrative event at warhammer citadel set in Vigilus. I've never been to anything of the sort, but I'm strongly considering this one, and wondering what I could expect if I were to go?

1: What sort of playstyle will people have? Very competitive, or not competitive at all? I play fairly casually in nature, so this is a primary concern, will I be able to keep up?
2: Will I need a Vigilus campaign book?
3: What sorts of armies are allowed? They mention 'themed around the armies on vigilus', does that mean my Freebooter Ork Warband wouldn't work because its not explicitly mentioned, or would it indeed work because it's an Ork army and Orks are 'nebulously' present on Vigilus.

Thank you!

Hello, just like to bump this; I haven't heard back from them on facebook yet. Primary question here is: Will I need the Vigilus Defiant book? I'm thinking I might but for budget and travel concerns I'd like to know if skipping that for now is an option.

If the US events at the Citadel are anything like the ones in Warhammer World in the UK, they'll be far more casual than competitive.

If you're using any units/detachments from the Vigilus book, then you should probably have it, but other than that? I don't think you would.

By "themed around", you can largely get away with anything that is the same faction as one that's already on Vigilus. So, Orks or almost any other faction would be fine - I'd pretty much only suggest no Tau, Necrons, or Primarchs.

They/them
