In ITC they do... lol! But i feel like he took this list to take me to town between cadia and the punishers. I might have been able to win had i played better, but meh. You probably wont see this army often either due to cost - easily $700+ of models in that army.

I don't even think in ITC they do. They are great at horde killing. My only thought is that is meant to kill guard soup screens, and green tide lists otherwise not so great at killing the heavy duty vehicles.

Yea, I haven't seen any ITC lists using Punishers. If tanks are being used in good lists, they're tank commanders with battle cannons.

im sure was tailored, i followed lot of ITC matches never seen so many punishers, LR with battle cannons are better, IG can unload tons of anti light infantry anyway (vigilus wyvern, mortars), one punisher with pask, if needed, is enough

So the way this list handles large targets is using old grudges and volume of fire.

Not much in the game will survive so many punisher cannons rerolling all wounds and 1s to hit; even moreso a chaos list.

Thing is, every meta is different, and lately ive been facing a lot of vulture gunships/punisher cannons, and they have a lot of merit. Death by a thousand cuts.

Also, if you think it woukd take forever to roll dice, you are right; but guys doing this are using a dice app. So perhaps your not seeing these in large events because of how much time it takes to shoot them of your opponent wont let you dice app it? Being as now with 1:15 chess clocks its very hard.

See my comment about time. Statistically, your better off with 40 punisher shots than 2d6 battle cannons, because a punisher can still hurt large stuff and handle hordes. Top it off with it leaves you points for better side guns.

Thats what Old Grudges is for. Matt plays a lot of high profile events; so when i play him i expect a TAC list. Supposedly he and our local TO have been kicking this around forna while

Right, but combine old grudges, and this list can handle a castellan no problem unless the guys super good at rolling 3+ saves.

Volume of fire can overcome even the toughest targets. Also you might not see this list between the time it takes, and the cost of this list; the vulture gunships alone are like $120 each then tack in all the troops and tanks.

Im not saying Matt didnt tailor a list, what i am saying is this list i feel would be extremely hard to play against unless you were running a gunline and got first. 280 str 5 shots rerolling 1s to hit, plus all the plasma cannons, plus rerolling wounds... its tough.

that list was tailord to blow your army off the board. Combo of Punisher Cannons, Cadian Relics and strats. I run Guard and this would be a matchup that this list was built to beat...plain and simple.
It was the equivalent of watching grass throwing itself at a lawn mower.

I just saw the game, and commented the same on your channel. Boring game to watch, was not your fault. Like what skill is involved in rolling 300 dices, rerolling hits and wounds just because you are Chaos? He didn't even move his army! Just set it up, roll a bucket of dices and watch your opponent remove his models... LOL.

It did show a huge hole in my list though; i had built the list expecting something like Lootas, etc. Punisher guard... never. So, i have tweeked the list, which i did test out and will be posting the battle rep next week against Castellan + Guard
