I bought BSF a while back and aside from that I have been away from GW gaming for a few decades(ollld).

Just returned from holiday and I bought White Dwarf for old times sake as something to do on the plane. In it was a Temporal Distort book showing an old Battle Report (Epic 40k). I remember this original battle the first time round and I loved the trip down memory lane.

Anyway, on to my question-

I am considering looking to get into a proper Table game again after reading WD and I wondered at peoples opinions. I am looking for somethign easy to set up/play...

What do people thing, Kill Team or Age of Sigmar(did I read there was a new skirmish Age of Sigmar expansion rather than the full on armies?)

I dont mind either setting in truth but what would people suggest I look at in terms of Box buying? Kill Team original box(is there such a thing?) AOS skirmish? Or something else?? So many things out its a bit bewildering.

Thanks for any advice.

Hello and welcome. Where are you planning on playing? Just at home with friends, or local store / club? If the latter, it might be worth finding out what's more popular in your area and going with that, if you're fairly ambivalent.

I'm not sure what happened to the skirmish AoS, I gather there was something about it in the January issue of White Dwarf, so I guess it's still around?

There was a starter box for Kill Team but looks like it may have been a limited run that's now sold out. The Rogue Trader box is still around though.

Something else you might like to look at is Necromunda? There's a starter box for that with basic rules, board, scenery and 2 gangs - enough to get playing.

Kill Team is easy to set up due to low model count but not so easy to play in my opinion. The rules are a lot more complicated than 40k and game lengths are comparable (for me at least )

If you're interested in card games like Yu-Gi-Oh/Magic the Gathering, GW have developed their own hybrid board/deck building game called Warhammer Underworlds. I've only played it once and it's not for me, so I can't really give a fair assessment of its difficulty.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
