Haven't played 40k in about a year since I've been busy with school, but now that it's Summer, I thought I'd dust off my speed freaks (and probably put a lot of them back together as they have a habit of breaking while I'm not looking). Thanks. So, anyone have any suggestions?

I don't much about Speed Freaks, but one thing I have learned fighting them is that 3 looted Rhinos is very annoying.

My opponent always deployed them like a wall, and then deployed everything behind them so they couldn't be shot. For a Tau player that is very very annoying, without that tactic I beat the cr@p out of Speed Freaks.

I may be crazy, but isn't it much better to take regular boyz squads than ard boyz?
You know, because of the bail out rule, and the fact that you are liable to be in assault range so soon, and they are cheaper?

Or at least Skarboyz, for the extra damage in the assault?

The list just seems woefully short on boyz.

If you insist on taking a Nobz mob then take the bare minimum.
4 with Choppa/Slugga and 1 with PK/Slugga. Way too many points in them already.
'Ard boyz in trukks are still better then Skarboyz IMO but only when you have heaps of trukks so the 'Ard boyz are gonna make it. Atm you don't have enough boyz.
Drop death Kopta and Bomma Raid and with the points from the 2 dropped Nobz you have about 160 points for more trukk boyz or 5 Warbike outriders, preferably 2 squads of 3 to try and tie up some shooty units first turn.
BW is near on useless for its points cost. Either kit it out with 3 TL BS's and 5 bolt on with Flash Gitz in the back or keep it bare with 3 TL Rokkits.
I'd suggest dropping it for another trukk boyz mob.

power klaw is 25p+5p for extra gear(read the codex for that one)

thats 35+30+25+80 if im correct... dont take it to a tournament i dont think it will be allowed

I could have 70 boyz, and little else, maybe half my boyz get shot down, and 30-40 make it into combat.

I could have 40 boyz, and a screen of buggies and other targets, I lose a bunch of buggies, and maybe 30-40 boyz make it into combat.

Granted, this is mostly theorizing on my part, so I'll have to play a few games and see if it actually works out that way. I'll see if I can squeeze in a few more boys anyway though, to get the best of both worlds.

The big shootas on the BW are just leftover from when I used to fill it up with boyz and bolt-ons. I'll switch 'em to rokkits.

As far as the points cost of the deth kopta, neither the power klaw now the burna are wargear?they are weapons?and therefor, do not cost an extra 5 points.

And for why I chose 'Ard boyz over trukk boyz? 3 burna's instead of one, and almost as good a survival rate falling out of their wagons. Not too mention being much more survivable once they get stuck in.
