Probably a dumb question but wanted some quick clarification. So the quantum shielding rule states each time this model fails a saving throw roll a D6 and if you roll under whatever the damage would be, you get to ignore the damage. If I don't get to use my saving throw due to the enemy weapon having a good ap modifier, does that count as "fails a saving throw" still? I'm assuming so based on what games I've seen but wasn't positive. Ty!

Yes.Remember, AP modifies your die roll, not your saving throw target. Even if AP modifiers mean you cannot succeed at a saving throw, the reality is you are supposed to roll the die and see that you failed. (For example, AP -4 does mean you need to roll a seven, but your saving throw remains a 3 or better on the d6, just a 3 or better on a d6 -4) So in my opinion, you HAVE failed that saving throw.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

You always get a saving throw (against non-mortal wounds anyway), even if the AP modifier would make it "impossible".

A model with a 3+ save that is hit by an AP-4 weapon doesn't have a 7+ save, it has a 3+ save on a D6-4.

Yes, you still get your Quantum Shielding roll.
