A lonely daemon engine wanders among dismembered corpses and draining effluvia, the emptiness of its soulless existence manifests in the grinding sound of ennui, no, wait, that's just a skull stuck in the treads, still, sad. Then a lonely dog appears at the top of the pile of corpses ahead, their eyes meet, visions of running through carmine fields, winding intestinal streamers around bone white poles, singing songs of happiness and joy. A boy and his dog wander into the blazing sunset.

This list is just some ideas on a Lord of Skulls list. I don't think LoS lists are super competitive, but they are a lot of fun.

The idea here is actually not a first turn charge because I don't want the Lord of Skulls to get too far out away from it's aura and spell support. With a second turn charge the LoS can coordinate it's arrival in hand to hand with the arrival of the letter bomb and skullmaster. Put the 2 min squads of letters on the field first turn, they can be flak, although there's a decent chance they'll draw very little fire on the first turn.

Karanak, Warpsmith, MoP, Dark Apostle do their best to keep up with the LoS (they can all use their special abilities while advancing if necessary). Huron and the RC detachment is there to provide some troop killing power and be a CP battery, could split one of the CSM squads into an MSU, but keeping it at 10 on the off chance it becomes useful to use EC or the RC recycling strat on them.

Anyhow, it's got 9 CP after all of the Specialist Detachment/Field Commander/Relic shenanigans and Denizens of the Warp/Banner of Blood for the letter bomb and Skullmaster.

Do you need a second terminator sorcerer when you field huron?

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Potentially not, but the extra deny, buff, Prescience is useful, gives me the flexibility to swap out Smite on either one for something different like Warptime if I need it. The second character in that detachment is kind of a 'flavor to taste' detachment filler.

I 'd imagine that you could field another lord discordant if you cut the reaper autocannons and the sorcerer. Might be a added little annoyance or quite possibly a second beatstick which can profit from the firemagnet that will be you Lord of skulls.

I could, and I have an LD arriving next week. However, part of the routine here is for the Warpsmith/MoP/LoS to heal the LoS for 4+d3 each round, I currently feel the LD's potential to draw fire is detrimental to that goal.
