I was using a pocket knife to pull heads of of some Marines and one was being a tight little bugger, I put lots of pressure on it. When it popped I wasn't ready for it and ended up gashing myself in the hand pretty good. I've also cut my thumbs up a ton doing conversion work.

I cut my thumb open and bled profusely while attempting to assemble an old 3rd edition metal bloodthirster.
Seemed fitting. I didn't even wash it off.
Khorne cares not.

Can't say I've particularly injured myself, even with a craft knife, when modelling.
I did once cut into the palm of my hand with a craft knife when cutting up a plastic toy sword, but that's about the extent of any injuries related to modelling tools, and that was in my late teens (some 25 odd years ago).
I've filed or sanded (I use Flory Models sanders) into my nails a few times leaving a groove, but that's not really an injury as it's not painful or anything.
I'm one of those overly cautious people, I always cut away from me, I don't force the issue and never put too much pressure on a blade (usually). I see people scraping plastic with an x-acto or swann morton scalpel type blade, cutting towards them with their thumb directly in the path and I can just see them taking their thumb out. I know I would!!
