For purposes of mixing units in a detachment, are Crimson Fists still Codex:Space Marines, or are they like Dark Angels etc and considered their own army?

To be completely clear, a Crimson Fist detachment is a Space Marines Detachment as defined in Codex: Space Marines.

More importantly, you can mix Crimson Fists into any Marine detachment and still get access to their stratagems.
