Several years ago I noticed the majority of vendors at Wargame Conventions used "Really Useful Box" as a means to haul their merchandise around. I like the boxes, the are translucent, come in a variety of colours, your can stack them easily, and they are cheaper than miniature cases. So I designed some trays that would fit the 4, 9, and 9xl litre boxes.

The trays are designed so a base will slide into the slot without overlapping the top. That way any basing isn't disturbed. These are specifically designed to store inside 4 litre, 9 litre, and 9 litre XL boxes from "Very Useful Box" made by Really Useful Products(C). You can download the files for free from Thingiverse. The biggest advantage to this system rather than foam storage boxes is nothing will be touching the miniature so you have less chance of paint chipping or parts falling off. When I play a game away from home I take the miniatures I want and place them in a small miniature travel case.

**Be Aware that the 32mm Slotta bases are a fraction smaller than 32mm. This includes the quick build and those from the magazine offer. Just place a normal 32mm based figure in the front and back of the row and all will be fine.

25mm row fits 8 bases or 3 pill bases
32mm row fits 6 bases
40mm row fits 5 bases
60mm row fits 3 bases

A digital Caliper was used to measure the top diameter, bottom diameter, and thickness of the base. You will notice that not all bases are the size they are advertised as. If there are any problems please let me know.

BD= Base Diameter TD=Top Diameter

25mm Slotta: BD:24.5mm TD:23.5mm H:3.3mm
25mm Tooth & Claw Slotta: BD:24.5 TD: 23.5mm H:3.3
25mm Assault on Black Reach: BD:24.5 TD:23mm H:3.3mm
25mm Storm Claw: BD:24.1mm TD: 23mm H:3.3mm
32mm Tooth & Claw: BD:32mm TD:29mm H:4mm
40mm Tooth & Claw: BD:39mm TD:37mm H:4mm
40mm Terminator: BD:39mm TD:37mm H:4mm
40mm Assault on Black Reach: BD:38mm TD: 36.5mm H: 4mm
60mm Thunderwolf: BD:64mm TD:61.5 H:3.3mm

You could alter it a bit to add recesses for magnets and then fit a metal sheet or flexible magnet in the base of the really useful box to stop them sliding about when it isn't full.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
