Just recently ordered one as part of my personally campaign to add more "levels" and LoS blocking terrain to my 4x4 table at home.
As I plan out how I'm going to assemble/alter it and paint it, I have some questions:

A)--Can it be assemble in 2 halves that "interlock" to form the complete model, or can each be placed separately?
It looks like it can with each half having plenty of overlapping parts to interlock with to hold it firmly if joined.
Just glue the 2 plates to form the Aquilla on each half, but don't glue the halves together

B)--Assuming the above is possible, do you think each half can stand on its own, considering each would now only have 2 legs at 90 degrees of each other?
Do you think I need a "pillar" at the center to keep each half stable?

C)--How do the side panels stay level with the platform with Unfurled?
I've looked at pics of the sprues and I just cannot figure out how they just down fall down completely. Do they somehow "click" into place?

Any advise is appreciated, Thanx

You could, I think, assemble it in two halves - the pad itself is made up of four quarters which lock together - but I think it would be unstable without an additional support in the middle. In addition, you wouldn't be able to add the side pieces onto two sides, as they would be crossing between both halves.

The kit is designed so the side walls will only fold down flat, and no further. However, getting them back up again is fiddly - they've a habit of catching slightly and bending the hinges rather than rotating smoothly. Nothing world-ending, but enough that I wouldn't like to make the change during a game with models on the piece.

I assembled mine entirely and painted it once assembled.

It's been a long time since I assembled mine, but I'm pretty sure the two halves can be left separate and just pushed together as needed. The long side pieces are a single piece, though, so if you want to attach these, you have to cut them in half for those sides.

The center of gravity of a landing pad half is too far out to stand on its own. You can either put another pillar under it as you suggest or you'll need a base or fill the (largely empty) pillars with something heavy like plaster or lots of lead. Even then the weight of a model might pull it down. You'd have to give that a try if that's what you want to do, but I'd suggest looking at the other options first.

I have an old picture with the sides off. You should see the bars holding the sides have a little connector in the middle. That's what stops the the side from dropping down past that point, if I recall.

Thanx for the quick replies!

I see that bar and now understand what prevents the side going down further, that is a big help!

And it does appear that I'll be adding some support to the center so that each half can stand with models on top. I think a half cylinder would look good as it would look like a single piece when the halves are connected.
The main reason I want to do this is to add each half to a DZ so both players can utilize it, or place it at the center as one piece, depending on our need.

Regarding the 3-section side piece that overlaps the center line: I've already got some ideas for that, either just cutting it in half, or removing the center "parapet" section entirely.
I'll have to play around with it once I get the model
