At this point, I've done enough Arena Rex that I should probably just dedicate a single thread to collecting them. So here we go.

Very impressive! Some of the textures and patterns are amazing, like that rhino skin!

Thanks.

One of the things that has impressed me about the line is how cool and dynamic their animal sculpts are. I don't think that I've seen anyone else make normal animals into as cool sculpts as the AR ones.

Very nice. You've done a great job of conveying the different materials.

Wonderful stuff! Any chance I could get a rundown of the brass recipe on that veiled woman's shield? I have a brass dragon to paint soon!

Well, as much as I can remember it.

I think it is mostly P3 Umbral Umber, shading with turquoise (more for verdegris than for actual shadows) and highlighting up with a cold yellow. You never get all the way to the yellow- instead you start mixing in Frostbite (blue off white) and eventually go up to white or off white (whichever works best for you).

Nice! thanks! I'm going to try that on the recent Bones release of "Dance of Death" (a dragon duel). I plan on making one of them a Brass dragon using this technique!

Love the blends on the shields. Really makes them stand out.

Cool. I'm interested in seeing that.

For a dragon, it is easy for the finished mini to read as yellow or brown rather than gold, so make sure to keep your contrast really high, and make sure to highlight the bounce light (ie, the opposite of your highest highlights).
