As I'm sure you're all aware, but probably don't often think about, Dakka costs a bunch of $ every month to keep running. However, we purposely choose not to plaster the site with advertisements because we want to keep the experience you guys have here on Dakka a pleasant one. But because of that choice, it does mean we rely (at least partially) upon donations from you guys to help keep the servers humming happily away, year after year.

Which is why we have the Dakka Contributing Member (DCM) program. In short, its just a way for users like yourself to donate to the site to help keep it running. There are a few perks associated with becoming a DCM (click on the embedded link above to see them all listed out), but ultimately the real prize is just knowing that you're keeping Dakka around.

However, one of the few DCM perks we do offer, is that from time to time we allow DCM users to purchase Dakka dice, and right now is one of those times! Here's a look at the different dice colors we're offering this round:




The dice themselves are sold for pretty much at cost, which is $9 for each lot of six dice (which includes shipping anywhere in the world).

If I roll the Dakka dice, and don’t get the result I want, can I make an appeal to “overturn” the dice to a result more to my liking?

Also, what are the highest contrast colours? Are these the only options? I like easy-to-read dice... could a person hypothetically request a particular colour, or do you get what you get?

The old Dakka Dice I have though are fantastic and have bought me many good rolls in the few games I've played with them.

Those are the only options that are available this time round. The dice are sold in lots of six all of the same colour that the purchaser chooses (ie. a lot of six purple and black).

Highest contrast is probably the Black/White with red detail (pips and logo) though they are generally pretty good all in all.

Worth noting that the dice are 16mm and have the dakka logo on the '6' face.

The most garish dice are often the most popular. I went in big for the fiery dice in Dakka Dice #?? in 2012 and the neon dice in Dakka Dice order #12.

Now those are some high contrast dice!

I already took that plunge for the purple and black dice. I guess that I will use them with my favorite loyalist Space Marine chapter.

For anybody who is thinking of getting some dice and has not yet aquired the DCM, the order cut off date for the dice is in two weeks. So if you are on the fence, climb down, click on your user name, hit the paypal and then when you have access to the DCM forum follow the instructions in the dice thread.
