I am picking up extra terrain for all of the different Killzones to spruce them up a bit but I'm a little stuck on the Deathworld Forest. I've seen people throw in some munitorium armoured containers but I'm not really feeling it. I was thinking about just throwing a Skyshield Landing Pad or even some Crashed Aquila Lander pieces.

Am I trying to do too much? Should I just stick with the stock Deathworld terrain and extras from the Deathwatch and DEldar killteam starters? What are other people doing?

The ryza ruins would probably mix well with the deathworld forest stuff. Also they are just about to come up on 40k Conquest for £8 a sprue. Bargain

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I use some scatter terrain I have to help fill in the Deathworld stuff. I have those extra genestealer infestation nodes as decoration. I also have some resin craters that allow a single model cover. Additionally, I use the crates, the Sector Mechanicus hatch and some other random stuff to mostly just make the board fill more dense. The photo in the spoiler tag has a lot of this in it.

Spoiler:

For the photo I have things closer than I usually would, but the general idea is there. I have three sets of Kill Team terrain (Sector Imperialus, Sector Mechanicus and Deathworld Forest) so I don't mind so much a single level board with the Deathworld Forest as a change of pace. I do like to have the house rule that models can't shoot through two pieces of Forest terrain. This is mostly to speed up game play as to not spend a lot of time trying to prevent or gain LOS. Works fine enough as it still offer LOS blocking, but it is fairly rare that melee get charges outside of LOS.

Get a pack of cork tiles and/or cork placemats.
Tear them and stack them.
Glue with superglue.
Add a little sand here and there.
Coat with watered down pva.
Paint to match the board.

You'll have a table full of passable rocky outcrops and much needed LOS blockers in an afternoon.

Also grab some cholla wood off ebay for some cool, cheap alien plant structures.

I would only add extra trees of various sorts since it is a jungle after all. You could make pathways lined with trees and stuff like that for a jungle vibe.

Thanks guys. Definitely some things to think about.

Yeah this is an interesting option! Maybe get some creeping vines to make them more deathworld Foresty. Still, was going to save the ryza pattern ruins for the sector fronteris.

Yeah I was thinking about this. Might be nice to have a couple single level boards. The other I was thinking of is Wall of Martyrs. Although I suppose a bastion or something wouldn't look out of place there.

This might be the way I'm leaning. Thinking about just grabbing another Deathworld Forest to double up on all the terrain and grab some creeping vines to add to some of the eldritch ruins to differentiate them. Then clump things together quite a bit more to hopefully block LoS.
