So, I'm putting together a genestealer cult set, and I want my models to stand out from the look of my Imperial Guard army.

While my IG are Wargames Factory & Cadian/Necromunda Spyder models, I'm going with Catachan models for my Brood Brothers. Can anyone point me to a 3rd party source that makes models similar to them? Catachans appear to be out of stock on GW's site, and I'm getting poor results from e-bay searches (that aren't metal - would prefer to avoid metal figures).

I've picked up a chibi german Panther tank to act as my Leman Russ, and I'm looking at getting a 1/48 sdfkz 250 to try out as a chimera. I'm open to ideas for other models to use as chimera, however.

I have a ridgerunner in the process of being painted, but I have been considering picking up some additional models that are fast attack vehicles or dune buggies. However, so far I haven't found a model I like. Can anyone point me to something that might fit (maybe I should consider a kubelwagen, with the theme I seem to be going for...).

Also, any suggestions for a variant Goliath? I'm not particularly sold on GW's model, and have been avoiding it - looking for something a bit more industrial looking.

It never ends well

Have you looked at Australians from Bolt Action (Warlord Games)?

Dollar General sells construction vehicle toys that look right at home with the mining schtick GSC are using for this edition. Most expensive one was like $5 and one was $3 or so IIRC.

I'd also go 1:35 scale for the vehicles.

Check out wargames exclusive for ridgerunner "counts as".

I bought the cult limo and one of the inquisitorial vehicles for that purpuse.

www.wargameexclusive.com

Hover Limo (they see a tank tread conversion kit for it):

Some of the vehicles (the one in the bottom right is the one I bought & think is the closest to a Ridgerunner):

I just need to tack on a mining laser to each.

Ha, I’d forgotten about those! The big cult limo might make a decent stand-in for the Goliath, the other for possibly Ridgerunners.

The dollar store construction vehicles is a path I considered, but seems that would take a lot of conversion work - any specific examples of items folks may have used?

Thanks for the Aussie suggestion as well, but it doesn’t *quite* fit. I know Battlefront does a 10mm line for Vietnam, does anyone do a Ramboesque 28mm line?

No, all of the vehicles I posted are too small to stand-in as a Goliath.

Puppetswar has a cool cargo truck model, a jeep, and some not-chimera and not-rhino APCs.

Maxmini makes an interesting not-a-Taurox model, and some "post-apocalyptic" vehicles.

Ramshackle games makes some interesting stuff. And there are also sci-fi vehicle models on Shapeways.

If you're handy with conversions, you could probably make some vehicles with the Mechanicus servohaulers set.
