Hello everyone, for those that had been following, we are proud to announce the upcoming kickstarter for the faun project is going to start on May 10th, 2019. Come join us for the discussion, and what we plan on doing for the project to come. We have established the first mold, and followed through with the HIPS plastic promise. More samples coming soon for the painted models.

Faun-tastic! sorry...

These look great though. Perfect for ungors in AoS, and great for forest defense in almost every other. I like that they don't look mean or savage, like most goat men you see. They look noble, and valiant. Mr. Tumnus goes to war!

We finally reached our epic fauntasy.

Some examples of the hard plastic. Reviews should be going up soon once samples are handed out.

I would link up your KS preview page for feedback here.

I've been following along with interest since the beginning, but I found the KS preview page hard to follow.

Are you using funds from this campaign to fund the male fauns (production run, packaging, transport from China, etc.)?

Is there a " give money, get shipped only male fauns with quick turnaround" option? That would be the most interesting to me. Or are you trying to ship everything at once?

I'm excited to finally get my hands on these. Thanks for taking feedback along the way.

Of course, most of the cost relates to the molds, and incidentals if we need to sculpt new things. im going to be addressing the production costs towards the end, such as the excise taxes in the EU (and UK). We need to deal with the customs, packaging, sprue distribution and delivery to the warehouses. Initial shipping costs are not in the kickstarter page or pledges to avoid skuing the pledges, as we might be able to get those costs down further if we can know for certain where the backer foothold is. Australia, for instance, it makes it easier to ship from the east side of the world vs the west. A lot of our assumption is US, EU (UK).

We have goals in mind: first goal, female base mold, looks and acts like our first mold sprue.

second goal extra parts to diversify the offering. That second one is important because we can branch it off to one or two smaller molds for male and females. With the prepared parts, we can then put them inside. That extra sprue gives us the backbone to complete a good set of 20 alone.

At the 3rd tier, centaur body kits were introduced to help the sylvan theme, and uses a lot of resources from the faun sprues to give them a completed feel.

At fourth tier, we can top off the fauns with a command sprue, because I assumed people would want heavier armor leaders, banners etc.

What is of most interest is that the lower tiers are pretty much done for mold production. Tim Barry and our other sculptors are going to be tapped after funding to help with the wishes of the backers that expand on that . We wont need a year like other people. The method we are using is literally taking digital files in freeform, and calibrating it for a quick turn around (2-3 weeks). The initial mold was done in aluminum, rated for 1,000,000 shots. The cost per mold is also much lower because of the base mold in play. When we were exploring the US with the XT method, we learned that the base mold is very adaptable to particular insert sizes. Based on the quality, you'll understand it is a rare treat.

There was a big wish to have the options for males and females, if unlocked we can offer them via backer kit for those that dont want a mixed set. Most seem to want a mixed set, but we will make the attempt to break off the male and female sides.

I am unsure how far this will go, so the initial pledge goals aim to reflect a priority on the faun box set.

Also note, we will be editing until the last day of Friday. As I need to convey more on things like the shamans, the breakdown of what people are actually getting, spelling etc

Does this mean there will be no Updates to the Faun Project thread? It's like an end to seasons or the tides. How will we know the passage of time?

You know, considering a few years has passed, it feels weird to not update there, but probably better to start over fresh. Alas, I have no true answer for the time or seasons.

Just wanted to comment that that assembled model pic with the light coat of primer really shows off the model better than the base plastic assembled ones - the gloss / shine hides some of the detail, and that takes care of it nicely

These look very interesting indeed and I think I'll be supporting this. I'm especially interested in the centaurs. Will the female torsos also fit them?

Females and male torsos will fit, but I believe some hobbying will be needed to make a perfect fit, we can address the calibration a bit better down the line to see if we can build to suit for the sexes.

I'm in for a box. They all laughed at my dream of a Pan's Labrynth vs Legend prequel diorama, but who's laughing, who's laughing now. {sax solo}

Ahem.

Have you guys sent out samples to reviewers? For example, Highlord Tamburlane has a YouTube series dedicated to reviewing and popularizing obscure miniatures.

In for a box as well.

I wouldn't be amiss to checking them out.

Wouldn't mind seeing stretch goals that give everyone a few extra sprues.... but let's get this funded first!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Looking forward to the Minotaurs as well. I think the idea of having all female Ungors, to work with, and among my gores is amazing. I like how you've designed the centaurs as well. I don't think anyone has nailed a really good set of centaurs for gaming, so I hope we're able to get those as well.
