Hello folks,

I just saw a teaser on youtube depicting a toon renegade IK.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RYfrtXJwmo

So has anybody up to this day more info on this? Such as if we will get a proper renegade IK kit? Please close this thread, if the topic is already discussed in another thread. I am looking forward to add a renegade IK to my Night Lords force and equipping it with twin gatling guns WITHOUT having to buy two bloody IK boxes.

Hmmm. Very intriguing. I'd be very happy to see Chaos variants of the Knights- more visual variety on the tabletop is always good!

I wonder if it will take the form of a spikes sprue, or actual alternate armour pieces and weapons with more sculpted detail? I hope the latter.

It´s the year 2019 and GW won´t get away with only putting a graveyard fence in the IK box. If this renegade IK kit is really a thing we will see properly warped armour pieces for the stompy robot.

I'll allow this one to run on its own for now, I've only updated the thread title to be more clear.

Could this be the thing that gets me into Renegades then?

Just watch Pacific Rim (2013) and you will be in the mood to buy, assemble and paint an IK in one go. Just stay clear of the second part because it´s a Power Rangers movie in disguise.

yeah I was mostly meh on the idea of a renegade, but if they put out a kit and even a codex I'll proably snag one to walk along with my black legion

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Funny, Pacific Rim 2 made me want to do Knights more than the first did!

I'm expecting this to be something like the Warden/Preceptor kit. A pair of new frames that build off the basic Knight, with specific iconography and stuff on those sprues.

Replacement Sprue for Canis Rex would be my guess, was hoping for the Helstriders and Helknights.

Hoping for a completely new kit myself, the bio-mechanical look shown in the trailer is screaming new kit.

Remember that Canis Rex includes two sprues that the Errant/Paladin kit doesn't.

The Warden sprue:

Preceptor sprue:

I could see there being a weapon sprue and an adornment sprue, with chaosy stuff to put onto the Knight itself.

Something to consider is that we're presumably getting an animated trailer next week. Thus far, only major/sizable releases have gotten one of those. That makes me think we might see a decently sized release. At the very least, a codex, dice and a kit that's more than just IK + Upgrade sprue. With the Chaos Space Marine release it seems like there's more of a push to make Chaos more unique than just Spiky Imperials.

I’m torn on hoping for an entirely new kit, so every bit of it is Chaotic, and a couple of sprues, akin to those above, so we can individually Chaos up the original models.

There’s upside to both, but the latter but just clinch it for me, as we can then field long term Traitors, and relatively new Traitors.

It would be awesome if actual Renegade/Chaos knights had access to some different weapons just to mix it up. If, however, they're supported by a new codex or a White Dwarf based mini-codex, it'll be a big boost for Chaos in the tournament scene. Their soup is already strong, but giving them more access to the Knight stuff they don't get (namely traits, warlord traits, relics, stratagems etc.) would be pretty damn strong.

Different weapons would be really slick though, simply to mix things up (pretty tired of seeing every single Renegade/Chaos knight wiedling dual gatling cannons)

New weapons don#t mix things up if they are poor. It's not like gatling is only weapon they have now...

True, but there are several weapons that Choas uses that will be perfect for renegade knights. Examples include butcher canons, hell flamers.

We also need to remember that the chaos gods might make some weopns more viable than others, and who knows what craziness the dark Mechanicum have been doing...

Stuck in the snow.

I know this is super wish-listy but it'd be amazing if beyond just rules or an upgrade sprue they would bring back some of the old Chaos Knight variants like the Slaaneshi Hell-Scourge, Hell-Knight, or Hell-Strider.

I really want to see that get re-imagined in the new grittier style.

Something like those would make good Chaos alternatives to the Armiger.

I am excited too! Maybe we will get a full blown chaos/renegade knight codex! Marked chaos knights! Already have 2 knights are a Castellan. But if they release a good chaos knight with lots of options. I might still buy it so that I can run a full chaos knight army when I feel like it, and the chaos bits from the kit can be spread out over my 4 knights.

Armiger and Castellans are shown with just the old chaos vehicles accoresy sprue spikies stuck on lol. Something about that part of this release is kinda underwhelming after seeing the amazing new chaos knight model.

Looks like the Chaos Knights get at least one new weapon type on the Desecrator. But the Rampager just seems like a mirrored version of the base Chaos Knight and the Imperial Gallant type.

The power fist might be a different weapon instead of just a more chaos cooler version of the loyalist one.

I think a lot of us are kinda use GW reskinning Loyalist stuff into cooler versions at this point. lol But you are correct, it could be a new weapon.
