Game was vs orks. Game wen't reasonable well. Was a victory for the Ultras.
He had a fairly diverse list.
2 units of nob bikes
A unit of Lottas
5 different buggies
Battlewagon with shoota boys
Choppa boys with Da jump.
He got the first turn and hit me with the Nob bikes and Choppas turn 1. I was down to about 26 Intercessors after that and he was able to bring the choppas back but he was out of CP
The intercessors very soundly beat ork boys in this setup. Levi dread toasted the remaining Nob bikers on my following turn and Chaplain dread and Gman with intecsser started mulching stuff. Chaplin dread killed 2 buggies in 1 turn (on turn 3)(probably the highlight of the match)
There was a situation where the choppas that came back for 3 CP
were standing in front of 2 (8 and 7) intercessor squads after failing a long charge. I decided not to shoot them and engage them in melle just to get the most out of my units. It totally paid off as The intercessors were able to shoot down a buggy with focus fire and then when they assaulted kill 27 orks (they were in both Gman and Chap dread auras too).
Overall I like how this list played. Levi dread was a boss per usual. Chaplin dread showed it's value. It's a pair of LC
that they can't remove from shooting. So I always have some ability to do multi damage to vehicles. I am actually thinking that Venerables might be better with 2LC powerfist now. The melle of a ven dread is REALLY good.
The only issue I have with this list is limited CP
. After spending 5 pre game - you don't have a lot to work with. Things like Auspex scan really hurt when you use them and don't get any CP
back on 5+ (which happens a lot).

What loadout on the Leviathan dread? Those bastards are a lot of points, and I've heard good things, but they are like Knight level points cost aren't they? Are they brought a good level because of Guilliman's aura compared to a knight? Is that the tipping point?
Double storm cannons all day dude. It would be fun to try out the grav flux bombards but being even more expensive it makes it hard. The setup I use is 303 points. However yes. The reason it does so well is because of Gman.
Double storm cannon Levi is dropping 1 super unit or 2 standard units a turn - Almost automatically. It's not gonna 1 shot a knight but it's gonna do a lot of damage. It does however - murderize elite infantry.

They'll either tank a whole tonne of dakka and sweep everything off in a hail of bolt rifle fire......or they'll be whittled down by CC
and weight of fire!
Whatever happened it must have been glorious!
The ancient banner mitigates that a lot I find. Losing an intercessor here and there to small arms - can sometimes mean you kill a heavy weapon in their army they haven't shot yet. (just the other day I killed a unit of havocs after taking 4 intercessors dead from oblitz). All 4 shot - all 8 shots wounded. Killed the 4 remaining havocs. Obviosuly that is lucky but I'd say intercessors do pretty well against shooting attacks. Obviously not AP
-4 flat 2 attacks (dang shining spears) they do shrug off small ares really well though. Automatically Appended Next Post:
How'd the game go? Interested to see if intercessor spam is as effective as i'm low-key praying it is
Most fun I've been having in 8th edition to be honest. It's effective in casual. not sure how it would do in a super competitive game. I think it could win big games against some matchups and in others it would have trouble scratching the paint of knights and such.
This was a funny moment.
A friend of mine had a brass scorpion out in the open. Intercessors had nothing better to shoot and had gman aura so I went for it. 30 intercessors and a few lascannons took him down. IT
was 80 shots because of the stratagem and I rolled really good on the 6's to wound but when you are throwing that man AP
-1 shots - you are gonna do a lot of damage to anything.
