3 Stormsurges.. Playing around them obviously.. Commander will provide 1 with reroll amount of shots or going to try and take down a hit priority target with Fusion Blasters with the other Stormsurge walking up.
The T'au sept Fire warriors will bubble wrap the 2 other stormsurges and the other fire warriors will try and get objectives with the commander and Stormsurge if needed.

A Protoss colony world

I've been wanting to try something like this myself. Not sure using 2 different septs is a good idea since Kauyon/Mont'ka is locked to a particular one. My version would use Shadowsun and all T'au Sept Stormsurges for maximum rerolling fun! If you do try this out, let us know how it goes!

Yeah still kind of figuring it out.. my thought process was getting the +6 range on the forward moving stormsurge so his str 14 wep is at 16" and the str 12 at 26" is pretty big.
Also I switched TL on the one stormsurge because he doesnt need it LOL and gave him counterfire. And I might even switch the T'au sept for Sa'cea for maxium markerlight support for all the destoryer missiles then take out darkstrider and add in another unit of firewarriors and give them all a markerlight and take away the hover drone on the ethereal. Turn two is most likely when I fire them all so the back 2 stormsurges would be hitting on 2s hopefully on 2 targets and the path finders would pick off anything the surges didnt. As for Master of War ability.. I might even just save it for Mont'ka to grab objectives faster. Since my 2 back field surges will be hitting on 3s turn 2 hitting on 2s against FLY units without markerlights. The other forward moving surge would still be hitting on 3s against FLY units and at 26" range his weapon would even kill praetors per shot. And if all my surges are still alive by turn 2 I can seriously cripple any army.

I like Bork'an, but run this if you are concerned about getting charged. I think ATS is mandatory on a Stormsurge. Ion Rifles are cute on pathfinders but another fusion suit is so much more.

I'll follow this thread, I'm halfway through building my stormsurge, its going to look a bit like a riptide with the add-on kits I've got. I can see running Borkan just because Mont'ka doesn't help, only Kay'on could, and the multi-range gun has a very nice medium range profile.

Yeah the medium range profile will have a 38" threat 16 dmg AP -3 with ATS TIMES 3 sounds pretty good.
Turn 2 hitting on 3s (depending on match up) Meaning youre destroying/crippling 6 vehicles

With velocity trackers and stabilized you are hitting Eldar flyers (Alatioc, hard to hit, and lighting fast reflexes)... and then 5 markerlights, could be hitting the hardest to hit models in the game, on a 4+... enough firepower to drop a bird a turn. (because 3 stormsurge says so)

Pulse Blast Cannon has an effective range of 32" I think. Move 6, range 20, borkan extra range +6... Right did I miss anything?

Pulse Driver Cannon is definitely the way to go, just played a game where I had two turns trying to get that pulse blast cannon into medium range, and never got it into short range.

Imperial Guard... 1 shadowsword, 5 russes, a deepstriking unit with -2ap guns, and 40sih guardsmen, and two really annoying psychers that made the shadowsword 2+ and -1 to be hit.

He just parked that shadowsword out in the open, dropped the two psychic buffs on it and laughed at me (for one turn, I killed it bottom of two, but it took everything.... that was in range... I'm still angry at the pulse blast cannon)

Yeah.. I decided to go with the Pulse Driver Cannons on all the surges and T'au sept.. with a se'cea battalion and won both my games.. against Imperial soup and Ad Mech.. the Imperial list was guard battalion with 2 basilisks 2 wyverns.. 50 guardsmen.. Custodes Supreme command.. 3 capts. on bikes and a Telemon dread and the -1 to hit banner dude. then another supreme command of space wolves with all the smash captains.. (wolf priest, WGBL, and Rune priest) with 5 wulfen.

Ad Mech had 60 troops 15 rust stalkers.. 4 dakka bots.. Cawl, 3 anti tank bots.

Both games were very close 1-3 points different.. I also feel like bubble wrapping wasn't an issue too much for my list.. just because when you charge a storm surge chances are very high that a few models are going to die in the charge if not all.
all around pretty solid list I still have one more practice game with this against a DE player with triple ravagers and a butt load of venoms and 6 talos.
