Hey Gang!

Question for the internets - I'm putting together an Inquisition team as a suppliment to my SM army. I want to pattern it after Eisenhorn and his retinue. The idea is to have a single Vanguard detachment that contains all the elements, leaving the other 2 detachments for my SM chapter.

here is the question - both Assassins and Sisters of Silence have a rule that allows you to add them to a Vanguard unit, but that Vanguard detachment does not give you a Command Point. Can I put BOTH units in the same detachment?

HQ - Inquisitor
Evesor Assasin
Vindicare Assasin
Calladius Assasin
(5) Sisters of Silence Squad
SoS Rhino (Dedicated Transport).

Is this a legal (battle-forged) detachment?

Thanks for the assistance!

Not for matched play - the only faction keyword they have in common is IMPERIUM, which means it falls foul of the Battle Brothers rule.

What keyword do the Sisters and the Assassins share besides 'Imperium'?

I'd probably go with (rules-wise) 3 Inquisitors in a Supreme Command detachment (one Eisenhorn, two additional Inquisitors you can kit out as you want to represent 2 people from his retinue) and a Vanguard detachment of Assassins (that you use as the remainder of his retinue).
If you want to use more bodies (= henchmen) you can always throw in Acolytes or something.

Yeah, but I really wanted to use the SOS to represent Alizebeth Bequin and the Distaff. I think victorian era ladies with some heavy bolters would be a cool aesthetic.

You could run Alizebeth as the Culexus Assassin, and throw a squad of Sisters of Silence into an Auxiliary detachment.

I think you have SoS and SoB confused as No SoS can be armed with a heavy bolter.

Yeah though given how bad flamers are it's really hard to justify them.

I dunno, for about 150pts with 7" move, and some LOS trickery, you can get a squad in range of something, and then you have 10d6 shots of S4 D1. Thats some pretty serious Dakka for the cost. Plus, they have that null stuff.
