Just want really honest brutal criticisms to help me understand if i have potential to become very good, or if you were looking at this would you think to your self, this is definitly the work of a noob or what ever. Or even better a rating out of 10, and 10 being a professional painting studio would be perfect.



Troops ( not in this picture check my gallary ) and tanks were the 1st things i painted ( other tanks not in this picture, check gallary ), then the heldrakes were the 2nd things i painted, then GUO is the latest. I started this hobby and modeling in general last year.


So in order from first things i painted to last is like this - 1st Tanks&Troops - 2nd Heldrakes - 3rd GUO.

Do you have an art/painting background, my first minis were nowhere near that standard, they were all thick coated single colour and gloopy! My painting has improved a lot since then, but I couldn't achieve what you've managed. Especially like the GUO. Really clean and crisp looking, and good colours too.

I'd be interested to see your troops if you feel like posting them.

If you want a point of comparison, I've been posting my Night Ravens in my own thread and I'm proud of them, but don't come close to what you've posted. I can't seem to paint a straight line, so make a mess every time I try to highlight!!

As for a score out of 10, 10 being a finalist in Golden Demon, and putting my own painting at a 5 for a reference point, I'd give you an 8.

I dont even know what to say because im so overwelmed with gratefulness. So thank you so much, heres a bad picture of the troops, hope that's sufficient. If you go to the start of my gallery, you can see alot of images showcasing my first time dealing with models, and they were pre owned ones that i stripped. So my first experience in this hobby was stripping models, then painting painting them which is all documented in my gallary mostly.

EDIT - Dont know why i said "some" of the first models, these are the very first models, just i started with tanks and troops first thats all. Well the very first technically was when i painted these tanks and troops over with just abadon black and a some gold trim ( all documented in my gallary ) with out primiing and then realised i was supposed to prime first so i stripped them for a 2nd time to finally actauly paint them fully like they are now. So the first time i only had done abadon black base and a some gold trim base and then i stripped them and painted them to how they are now using primer this time, so i dont think you can call that the first time i had painted models ever when i had only done like 1 coating 2 colors of base.

Edit - actualy i deleted the images showing when i had painted just the troops with 1 coating of abadon and some gold trim base with no primer before stripping them 2nd time, but the tanks that were painted the same with just abadon and some gold trim before 2nd time stripping are still there. If you want i can re upload them, but i'll assume you believe me.

I recognize your miniature from dakka painting challenge.
A poll is about as honest as you can get.
And you did fairly good?
So Id say you are fairly good.
But at the same time you have a lot to work on if you want to reach number one.
I also enter that once in a while, its a good reality check.
I am in the same boat, not bad, but a lot to work on.

Yeah didn't want to make this thread since i had entered that, but it had a awful base then, and now it has the base i wanted etc.
