So I feel like I've done my self an injustice by getting back into warhammer with DW. Part of me wants to keep playing with DW and get to the point where I know what to actually do with them, like what to equip them with for certain missions and different armies i play. The other part of me wants to try another army that isn't screwed when I lose 2 guys. The way I look at KT is like chess and when I'm playing with 5 guys and my opponent has 15 guardsmen I'm at a big disadvantage considering I'm still learning the game. Obviously it's not just a numbers game but I can't help but feel like if I had just a few more guys I could still stand a chance even with making some mistakes. In my 3rd game I surrendered on turn 3 because I was 3 guys down and my other 2 were locked in combat so it was pointless trying to win the combat and secure the objectives afterwards, it just wouldn't work.

There's only 1 guy who comes to my local GW games night who plays KT, I suppose that sucks but he's a nice guy so I'm fine playing him. The armies he plays are 2 different kinds of guard, grey knights and he's working on a space marine KT. So that's what I'll be up against. Any pointers with these teams in mind will be appreciated.

Something I'm down about is I'm dyslexic and have fibro. Doesn't make me dumb just different, I can still do gak but it's just harder as a whole. Something that shoots me through is trying to workout what you need for dice rolls when doing stuff like shooting. All the different weapons with different strengths against different toughness's is just a load of maths to remember and workout. At the moment I'm just relaying on the guy I play to tell me what I need to roll. How do you work it out? And how long did it take you to get to the point of being able to work it all out yourself? Any handy tables someone's made, like someone did for the paint chart?

Here's my list I played in my last 2 games. It's the best I could make with the models I've converted up.

Leader - Intercessor Sergeant, AGL bolt rife and Chainsword
Comms - Intercessor, heavy bolt pistol and AGL Bolt rifle
Combat - Veteran Sergeant, Xenophase sword and bolter
Demolitions - Veteran gunner, Frag Cannon
Intercessor - AGL Bolt rifle

Total 95pts

I've got the elites book so this list is open to something probably better.

Cheers.

Your first problem is that list isn't legal - only gunners get AGLs.

What is the plan for that list in Recover Intelligence or Terror Tactics? Who is the comms guy there to buff?

About the AGL cheers for that. For an objective game like recover intelligence i would probably split my DW up into 2 pairs and 1 guy going solo and terror tactics just straight up try to kill as much as possible, that's always a good plan. The Comms guy is there to buff anyone that can be, he's only in the team for now because he's converted to look like a Comms and he's painted. Not sure what works best, would you drop him?

Comms is always good - I was asking your plan and you don't seem to have one.

First thing to learn - don't put a model on the table or make a move without having a plan.

Take some photos through your next game so we can see what you're doing.

Yeah your right about the plan. Not sure about whipping out my phone and snapping away. I'll wait and see if anyone else can offer some noob DW advice or else I might have to do some sly snapping.

Are you remembering to use SIA? This is one of the key tools to DW.

TBH, DW are all round good. Other then being a bit short of bodies it's hard to go wrong with DW.

I think it's probably general play advice that you need.

Yeah I've used the special issue ammunition. Useful stuff.
