Rather than clutter up the board with my posts I figured I should consolidate a single topic for my work.

I talk a lot about the thought process, plans, and learning experiences over on my project log, but I'll keep this thread to just the final pictures. If you're interested in trying the scheme for yourself, it's easier than it looks- check page 3 in the log for a tutorial.

Absolutely smashing work, mate!
I've enjoyed watching you develop this scheme and it's really paid off!

It certainly makes a convincing case for giving nids an organic paintjob rather then the traditional flesh/chitin method.

Love how clean the carapace pattern is! Fantastic use of natural colouration - you've really acheived something with how eye-catching, yet un-garish they are, great work, would love to see them on a tabletop, munching suckers!

Fully magnetized Carnifex / Old One Eye. Using the Tervigon claws on Old One Eye for a little more bulk.

This is, without a doubt, the best Tyranid army I have ever seen. Also probably one of the nicest armies I've ever seen period.

The excellent colour palette for these bugs and your painting style is amazing.

Simply the best Tyranid color scheme I have ever seen.

But forget the painting, the force composition and everything else.... I want to tell you how damn good that puddle looks on Old One Eye! It really adds so much character for me.

I recently read a theory on "Blanchitsu" and capturing the character of a model and this really sprung out at me for some reason. Beautiful use of water effects!

Simply more stunning work again. I have to admit that I love the bases for these Nids. It really adds a feel to them that "Muddy Field" or "grey drybrush" just doesn't. Everything blends together in an extremely good way.
