Ive been playing a number of 1000 point lists to familiarize myself with the 8th edition rules

Last week I tried fire warrior spam, it was fun but the idea of playing 1000 point games was to be a little quicker, so moving around a ton of small models got a little tedious

I have 2 lists I'm thinking of trying, mostly for fun


1000 point riptide

The support systems are chosen because of point limit, this is exactly 1000 pts

I worry this list will lose broadsides quickly without and drones

I feel like you can't really go wrong with 3 riptides at 1000pts. That said, whoever your opponent is will likely never want to play you again.

My buddy plays eldar and brings lots of nasty things as well and we are just experimenting with all our units so hopefully it isn't that devastating.

Alternative to just cramming in 3 riptides is to go down to 2 riptides and diversify a bit..

You want the shield drones in the tau detachment or they won't be able to saviour protocol for the riptides. Otherwise looks good

That's a pretty solid list. The marker lights will be a huge help for your accuracy.

In my experience, it's difficult to bring things that can reliably take down a riptide faster than a riptide can take you down at 1000 pts. but if that's the whole point of the game. then triptide it all the way.

Took the 3 riptide list
Only Change was I gave them all ATS and couldn't afford any more options

It went as expected, he never wants to play a 1000pt 3 riptide list ever again...

It could be worse. He could never want to play you ever again. lol

We are both testing out our different units,
Next 1000 pts will be broadsides
Then after that I'm going to take longstike and Hammerheads

He brought warwalkers and wraith lords against my riptide but his rolling was awful

He said in 1000 pts if he ever saw 3 riptides he would just walk away
