From a DM perspective, the item drop rules should be limited to bottom of feet only, negating the team play shadow blade tactic.

Item drop should only be limited to picking up/ dropping items in your square.

So for you're grand plan to work optimally it relies upon:
1) Tricking your DM into modifying the rules for dropping/picking up items.
2) Getting another player to play a specific type of character.
3) A bunch of Multi-Classing.
4) Not being really effective until lv 8/9.
*And a whole slew of other variables that you've no control over.

All of this works quite well in in a white room/thought exercise environment. In the wild though? It's a poor plan. Especially steps 1 & 2.... Especially step 1.

Ah, my friend, that's why the author called it "stupidity".

I respect your disdain for the concept of trickery as a bad aspect of the game. I tend to play roguishly.

As for "not being effective" until Lv 8/9, there is a strong progression of skills and abilities throughout this build. Something new every two or three levels and solid strong progression if you build it right.

Start as a tank, transition to DPS, end as a spell caster any two level 7 spells.

The Paladin 2/ Bard 18 build is heavier on the spellcasting, but IMO the glyph-play cheese is way stronger.

Good question on alignment in the most recent edit! Do such unorthodox tactics violate lawful good alignment?
