What does all this put on your shopping list? The new stuff is perfectly valid, but the far more interesting question is what existing units do you not have (or just have one of) that are now on your to-buy list and why?

- Out of the new stuff there's no question that I get an Invictor, Impulsor, Lasfusile Eliminators, and Incursors. Those are just a given.

- I also buy another squad of Suppressors the moment they come out as an individual box. I'm already proxying a second squad semi-regularly. (The fact that you can't get them as a stand-alone box is why they're here instead of in with the existing stuff.)

- I don't buy any of the named characters, although that's just a hold-over from 3rd/4th when named characters were banned in every tournament format.

- I also probably don't pick up more Infiltrators. Ten of them is already more than I'm likely to ever use and I'll get the comm bit when I buy the Incursors.

Out of the existing things:

- I probably shouldn't count it since I actually bought it already, but a Chaplain. I couldn't justify buying one when Littanies of Hate was just a worse Captain reroll, but I really like the new Primaris model. The moment I heard they'd get five more littanies that went straight in the shopping cart.

- I probably also shouldn't count filling out my two Aggressor squads (one bolt, one flame) for the same reasons, but the Imperial Fist chapter tactic and the 3" range extender sub-tactic were enough to push me over the line on them.

After those already-purchased items though, there's a number of things I'm seriously considering but none that I just immediately knew I was going to buy.

- Vindicator. Own one already that I bought second-hand, straight d6 shots puts that into serious consideration for buying another one. I'm not sure what's holding me back on that, it's only 10 more points than Lasfusile Eliminators and doesn't require a Phobos Libby babysitter, and they get chapter tactics too now.

- The Whirlwind is another one. It gets CTs now, it was already a good point value and it's getting cheaper, I kind of wanted a second one to begin with, and it's got a strat that I'm a lot more likely to be able to actually use with two of them on the table. Why haven't I ordered another one already?

- Filling out my squad of Assault Bolter Inceptors looks like a good idea now that they hold up better. They're still awfully pricey though. Not too expensive for what they do, but kinda too expensive to think I'd take a full squad in a 1000 point list. Especially since I already own Plasma Inceptors so I have an easy source of Proxies if I want to try a bigger squad.

- I've wanted to fill out my Centurion Devastators for a while now, but I could never justify it since (again) they're too expensive for 1000 points and also since Dreads are so close in price. Even with +1 wound and +1 attack and a price cut and Grav Cannons getting a price cut and a new strat on top of all that I still can't quite justify buying more of them. The Assault ones are even worse; W4 A3 (4 on the charge), on a unit that could be carrying six to twelve 11" flamers? And they got a strat that lets a LR imitate Assault Vehicle? It sounds so good on paper, but I need to see where they actually landed for points.

my marines are mostly a display army. I will play a few token rounds though with the new codex to try them.

lieklt the librarian in phobus armor and 2-3 squads of eliminators, and depending on how many are in a box 10 or 20 infiltrators (2 boxes).

reasoning being I like the models.

Not sold yet on the Impulsor. I've set cash aside for the Raven Guard LE supplement and Shrike, whenever that happens.

With regards to the ridiculous amount of Shadowspear stuff...
I was lucky. A lot of people local to me wanted to start CSM when it dropped. I was able to get the Marine half for damn near pennies on the dollar for a lot of it, or simply as payment for building the CSM stuff for people.

The new Vanguard units as I need to complete my "battleforce", composed by elements of the
3rd company (tactics and some Gravis Marines) and 4th (all Vanguard/phobos company)
They add to all other pieces I'm still missing, so I'll probably get them in a combo box that they will probably do down the line, like with the space wolves and genestealers.

For purchasing I still want 2 more Land Raiders, that's unchanged.

But my painting strategy might see a few units bumped up in priority. I don't have any of my Terminators painted, and they might see some action. Looks like I might do up some more Grav Cannons, too. Sternguard are pushed up in the queue, too.

Vindicators might get added to the Chaos collection, however.

Will probably wait a bit to see what better players think with the meta before purchasing many new models. I’ve got a huge unpainted backlog as is. Impulsor mounted infantry are appealing to me, but I don’t want to rebuy the Primaris equiv of my Gladius force just to get that Assault Vehicle rule unless they’re actually good.

Almost certainly will get some Eliminators and a box of the Infiltrators.

Nothing, because my high-tech commando Deathwatch marines don't get access to any of the new high-tech commando marine stuff.

For reasons.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

@Racerguy I was aiming the question mostly at marine collections. Are any of the Chaos, AdMech, or SoB things on your list a direct response to the Marine changes?

I might pick up the Impulsor, but I need to see a 360 of the vehicle. The rear configuration has me concerned because right now it's looking like a Primaris El Camino.

Yeah, floating Rhino I’m good with. Floating pickup is weird looking and weirder that they can’t shoot from.

Vindicator. I like the Vindicator model, so now that it might actually have field-able stats, then i'll probably get one.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

well, I'm pretty stacked with marine stuff to paint as is. However, I will probably add 1 or more drop pods now (always wanted a couple more but was hard to drop the money with how they played) and will get some warsuits and infiltrators.

So far, just two Impulsors, two squads of Eliminators(Probably making two squads of Bolt Sniper Rifle guys since I don't really like the points in the Las Fusils, the Instigator Bolt Carbine doesn't do it for me either), and one squad of Incursors/Infiltrators (I will be making two squads of Infiltrators with a Helix Adept and a squad of Incursors with a Haywire bomb using this squad and the ten Infiltrators from Shadowspear). I probably won't run the Incursors or Infiltrators as of yet though.

If/when the Imperial Fists supplement comes out, I will get that too.

3xInvictor is a fairly likely purchase even though I'm still not sold on it. Phobos Librarian is pretty likely. Impulsors are a maybe if I can figure out something worth putting into it.

Centurions are looking like a strong probability. Sniper rifle infiltrators seem more or less solid.

I would love an excuse to do all bikes/all landspeeder army even if my wallet would hate it.

The stormraven and Fire Raptor are almost certainly coming back as high tier picks.

Flipside, I hope whirlwinds, vindicators, predators, etc stay terrible because they're expensive and I don't really want them.

I'll get at least a couple impulsors, at least one Invictor to start, Probably one Eliminator, and two Incursors(they're a combo box with the Infiltrators - so one becomes Incursors, one becomes alternate/fill-ins to MSU (i.e. Sgt's) the Infiltrators and swap Comms/Helix Adepts)

- I also buy another squad of Suppressors the moment they come out as an individual box. I'm already proxying a second squad semi-regularly. (The fact that you can't get them as a stand-alone box is why they're here instead of in with the existing stuff.)

I already ordered Tiggy.

Already had a Chaplain. I'd be more inclined to go Cassius and Tyrranic War Vets for fluff anyway.

- I probably also shouldn't count filling out my two Aggressor squads (one bolt, one flame) for the same reasons, but the Imperial Fist chapter tactic and the 3" range extender sub-tactic were enough to push me over the line on them.
Have six Boltstorm Aggressors already. The real benefit for the Flamestorms was Tactical Doctrine + Scions not the range bonus. They double tap all day long during Tactical Doctrine after moving. That's more range than 3"
.

Have one, not in a hurry to get another, but maybe later.

- The Whirlwind is another one. It gets CTs now, it was already a good point value and it's getting cheaper, I kind of wanted a second one to begin with, and it's got a strat that I'm a lot more likely to be able to actually use with two of them on the table. Why haven't I ordered another one already?
Haven't given it any thought - But I'd buy the top turret from a bits seller as I have enough Rhino Chassis already. I'm thinking more about the Whirlwind option for the Impuslor. That one kit with options "replaces" the Rhino, Razorback, Whirlwind and the Hunter/Stalker? At least one of the AA Rhinos, I can't remember which one or both.

I have two 6 man's of both Plasma and ETB Assault Bolters from Wake the Dead and Dark Imperium. I may replace the ETB with Full Kits that looks better with the voids and bits - but that's aesthetic not rules based and WAY down the road.

I have no Cent Devs yet - and I wouldn't put Grav Cannon on them if I did. Their thing was two Heavies so that for twice the price you also got twice the shots. They don't get twice the Grav Cannons. Assault Cents getting out of an assault vehicle (costing CP) and still being unable to assault is unlikely to be in my bag of tricks.

My answers will be different from a newer player. I've got a 20+ year collection of UM. I'll bet I have more Marneus Calgar's than some people have Captains. I have the entire second company, and I'd guess at least half of the first company. The only reason I don't have Cents is having never gotten around to it - I buy at least one of even the "bad" models/units both to complete my collection, and because last edition's bad models are usually next edition's good ones. This skews both my old vs new buying plan, and my new buying plan by itself because some of them will be bought to put on the shelf. I so far suspect the Incursors are going on the shelf. I don't expect to take Incursors and Infiltrators in the same list, and I expect to take Infiltrators in almost every list.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Currently trying to work out if I actually need the Codex or if I can get by with the cards. Then mostly it won't really be a shopping list as such, but there'll be a lot of unbuilt stuff getting pulled out of the pile of shame and either built/painted. Looking forward to finding out how the Drop Pod and two boxes of Assault Marines fare. Oh although I think I'm probably gonna get onto FW and grab an old-school Rhino and Land Raider.

I honestly want to run a Impulsor with 6 intercessors in it. 199 points. 38 inch threat that I'm going to unload, spend 4 CP and drop 24 auto hitting Str 4 -2 AP bolter shots on someone. You can split it into 3 shoot 1 unit, 3 shoot another unit and have strong odds that you just killed

If they survive... good. If not, I think that its going to take some work to kill this 200 points. Chances are more than than it is worth.
