I agree - the greens of the cloaks & the glows work really well of each other. Re the bases - they are a bit drab IMO. May I recommend a dark rust red oxide like GW's Mars texture paint. This will play off the reds on the fatigues & balance out the minis.
Try doing a quick try-out in Photoshop or Gimp to see what I mean.
