Hi guys,
I have never really been a fan of the Dark Angels, but I had the opportunity to read this book and... It's not bad actually. I hear a lot of bad stuff about it but to me at least, it brings a new point of view of pre imperial worlds, world getting into the imperial truth from the point of view of the compliers, and offer good insights of the beliefs of the Dark Angels and their primarchs. It's not the most 40k esque or awesome book ever but I'm still glad I read it.
What do you think ? What does it have such a bad reputation ?

Its reputation comes from being a Heresy series book that has little to do with the Heresy and that it doesn't add to the story of the 1st Legion in any meaningful way

To be fair the dark angels feel a little shoehorned into the Heresy... Same as the night lords on the other side.

its a good stand alone book but its not a good heresy book is the problem in my opinion and that is coming from a die hard dark angels fan, thankfully the dark angels novels get much much better as the series goes on with one being easily top 5 in the whole series (angels of caliban)

When do they get better? Not that I think the books are bad in anyway. I just haven't had time to read them in the past few years. I stopped at Damnation of Pythos. Dark Angels are my favorite army, and while I quite enjoy their part in the series, none so far as I've read stand out in particular.

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.
