Greetings,

I have not played any Wild West Themed RPGs since Boot Hill from TSR. Therefore, I am a bit out of the loop on this genre.

Can someone point me to a few to read up on? I all ready have Savage Worlds/Dead Lands on my radar, so are there others?

All flesh must be eaten was eden studios main core rule game. It had a TON of supplments for playing all kinds of genres (and if you just remove the zombies its just a game for that genre) the good the bad and the zombie is their western book and includes stuff for man with no name gritty westerns, singing cowboys of the 50s, and other western tropes.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Aces and Eights from the people who made Hackmaster.

Edit: It was Kenzer. Here is the webpage for it.

I would second the Aces and Eight system. The target system is a little wonky but you get used to it quickly..

The deadlands is okay but if you don't want magic and cyberpunk stuff going on in your wild west game.. A&E is the game for you.

Is it actually anything LIKE Hackmaster, because I really do not care for Hackmaster.
